Royal Caribbean should look at the CC homepage poll

Recommended Posts

Almost half of cruisers have a problem with smoking balcony neighbors.

Wake up RCI! When I pay ten thousand dollars for a suite, I don't want smoke in my face during breakfast!

Then book an inside or an ocean view. No smoke issue there.

Or try another line.

When i pay 10,000 for a suite i expect to smoke on my balcony if i so choose.

I see in your sig you were on a 2/13 sailing of Celebrity Reflection, I imagine you were not able to smoke on your balcony on that ship? Perhaps, OP, Celebrity would be a good choice for you as they have far more restrictive smoking policies.

Did you ever think about booking an inside cabin?

You get even less quality time on your balcony with an inside cabin.

I know there are many smokers who don't really care whether they're bothering those around them or not, there are also many who are considerate of others.

Half of what cruisers? CC cruisers? And what % of all cruisers are cc cruisers:rolleyes:

And, how many have taken the poll?

...and apparently OVER half don't. There's your answer right there.

I think they should make one side of the ship non-smoking and the other side smoking. Then let's see which side sells out faster!:)

Don't know if you were kidding, but I've always thought this was a good idea. Not so much to see which would sell out faster, but to encourage more non-smokers to book balconies.

I don't think they should totally eliminate smoking on the balconies. RCL offers that policy on their sister company, Celebrity. I'm a non-smoker, but I don't really have any problem with the current system. I HATE having to walk through the casino, but I can hold my breath that long. ;)

There is a sufficient number of non-smoking areas to satisfy me, while still accommodating others.

I'm typically a pretty intolerant non-smoker, but I think everyone should be able to enjoy their vacation. For some, puffing on that Cuban cigar is very enjoyable, and if they are in a smoking area, that's just fine with me.

Note to Non-Smokers:

There are lots of ships and cruise lines that do not allow smoking on balconies.

Not really. Among the mass-market lines, it was pretty much just Celebrity. Now Princess is in the mix, which is a step in the right direction. :)

So you want RCI to change its policy because less than 600 people on cruise critic didn't like it out of their several million yearly passengers.

Actually, over 1200 respondents is a pretty decent size sample, but of course, it's not a scientific sample.

So, it appears around 600 are bothered. Now in CC terms, we must remember that there are 40 or so cruise lines talked about here so that equates to around a grand total of 15 cruisers for rci:rolleyes:

If the poll would be set up in a way to only vote once I might agree, but as you can vote as many times you want, the whole thing means nothing.

So what you are saying we need to make RCCL aware of is the fact that over 50% of those polled have no problem at all with smokers on the balcony. Excellent, I for one commend you as so many people only contact the cruise line to complain or whine and moan about things! How great that you want them to know that a majority of respondents like and approve of how they have chosen to run their business!

Using a similar analysis of a recent opinion poll, approximately 14 registered voters per state approve of the job the President is doing.

Then it must be the non-registered voters that got him re-elected.
