Back to Back Cruises

Recommended Posts

That doesn't work on Royal Caribbean. They get a list of who is B2B and do not give you your purchased bottles at the end of cruise #1.

That's an interesting point. I was thinking we would bring on 4 bottles of wine at the start of the first cruise, two of which would be taken off us and handed back on the last night and thereby become our 2 bottles for the 2nd cruise.

Does this mean we would not get the wine back but would have to leave the ship and buy a couple of bottles - since it's Port Everglades it's not the best place for this.

Gabrielle R. was asking about C&A levels and being one level on the first cruise but then going up a level on the second. Her question had nothing to do with upgrades.

YUP! That is what I was wondering! Thanks for the advice too!!

You just show them both Set Sail Passes, that's what I've read on another thread about the issue, because I wanted to know too, have two b2b's coming up!

we did a B2B on Carnival Ecstacy last year, 9 days at sea. Same room both trips. on changeover day, we did laundry (self serve) but found that the hot water was shut off for some reason for most of the day (before boarding started). Eventually hot water came on and we got our wash done :) not sure how that works on RCI but I think the hot water thing was some maintenance task and not a usual occurrance.

Sometime late morning, we were escorted to the pier and back on the ship after everybody else was off and issued new sail & sign cards.

On our 2nd tour we found a nice plate of chocolate covered strawberries (free) on our bed at turn down in the evening, everything else was the same.

One neat thing you can get away with on a B2B is to buy liquor at the shops on the first trip, pick it up at the end of that cruise and take it back to your cabin, then drink it on the 2nd trip! May be a bit sneaky, but it worked for us!

Why would you post your experiences on a Carnival ship when the OP's questions pertained to a B2B on RCI.

On a b2b you can bring 4 bottles of wine and 2 of those bottles will be held for you until the start of your second cruise.

As Patti explained, they handle that for you very nicely.

But if you REALLY want to buy a bottle of XXX in the shop and have it in your cabin on the second cruise, it's really quite simple.

Make friends on the first cruise. Ask them to buy the bottle for you. On the last night, when the bottle is delivered to their cabin, give them cash for the bottle and say "Thank you very much!"

;) :D

We're doing b2b on the Oasis and the Allure in October. Just got in under the wire and they are putting us up in a hotel for the niht in between. Anyone know how they handle this? I've even called several times to see how to fill out the set sail pass, and no one seems to know if it's considered a real consecutive cruiser or just 2 sailings even tho it booked thru the b2b desk

You will need both SetSails, one for each cruise. You will disembark the first cruise and be on the ship's bus to your hotel, probably via the airport to drop those folks off first. You will be given instructions by the bus driver or the hotel as to what time to expect the bus the next morning. That bus will take you back to the ship, again via the airport to pickup the air guests. It's time consuming, but the free hotel is a good deal. You will check back in for your 2nd cruise with all the other folks, just as if it's just another cruise.

We had heard that the free hotel between cruises was no longer offered. Glad you were able to get that benefit!

When you get your cruise documentation for your second cruise, you'll find vouchers in there for the hotel and transportation to/from the hotel. You should print those out and take them with you.

As far as the online check-in, just select that you're a consecutive cruiser for the relevant parts of your travel information. It won't have any bearing (that I could tell anyway) other than not requiring you to fill in the transportation section for departing the first cruise and arriving for the second one.

As far as the cruises themselves go (onboard), however, you'll be a regular, non-consecutive cruiser since you'll be disembarking your first cruise along with everyone else, although if you are using their transportation, you'll want to ensure that you find out when that bus leaves.

When we did our semi-B2B like that, we rented a car so we could drive around the area for the day and evening between the cruises. We only used the voucher for the hotel.

Thanks for the information. I assumed that it was just like any 2 separate cruises. Since they give you vouchers, we may just take a cab over to the hotel, and do the same in the morning. Having to go to the airport could waste a whole day, or a whole part of it

They did discontinue the free hotel in March. We just got in under the wire.

The cab is a good idea. Saves you lots of time. If you decide to do so, notify guest relations so the bus doesn't wait around for you. We did our almost B2B on Freedom and Monarch, with a hotel in Orlando. Tried to get them to give us a hotel in Cocoa Beach, but they wouldn't go for it.

Enjoy your Oasis and Allure cruises!

The vouchers are most likely for their bus service, not for cabs, like Pumbaamd said.

It's also likely that the hotel will be near the airport. We found that when we were cruising on Freedom of the Seas and then Monarch of the Seas out of Port Canaveral, RCI put us up in a hotel out by the Orlando airport, so that meant a 45-minute trek each way. Still, the hotel was free, and that was nice.

Or, they may let you carry all four on. It may depend on the phase of the moon, or wind direction/speed. or the disposition of whomever is handling the scanner. That is the RCI (Real Consistency Impossible) that we have all come to love, or at least tolerate. :D

Hi Janet and Ray, been a long time, and we live so far away. Hope all is well. To coin a phrase, we've got to do lunch again.

I was hoping we could just cab it to the hotel, vouchers be danged. BTW, we didn't get an hotel by the airport. We were lucky enuff to get the Doubletree Gallery at the Galleria. It is a perfect location, with everything you need, even a Publix across the street, and a water taxi stop outside the door. Couldn't be better.

Hi beej,

Yes, we do need to o that. Each time we pass by your place (usally when heading out to cruise :)) I say the same thing to Janet, then we kick back into "cruise-mode" and forget :o

Send us a e-mail and we'll see if we can set something up (zeesinnh at aol dot com)

Sweet hotel gig. You "did good" -- nice planning :D

Look forward to hearing from you.

Say "Hi" to the SSSS :)

We have done Oasis followed by Allure with the freebie hotel , the Hilton at Fort lauderdale, the one right by the swing bridge, lovely hotel and only a $10 taxi ride from the cruise terminal. I just wanted to give a heads up. We waited ages at the hotel for a room, I know we were there early but even so , the hotel is huge. I found out from the receptionist that RCI request. 'superior' rooms and she was waiting on one to become available, I told her we would accept anything within reason as we were only going to be there less than 24 hours, we got a room straightaway and it was a lovely room.

Heather, Royal has us in the Doubletree Gallery one, all suites. Staying right across the bridge every winter I know the area well. Starbucks,Publix and CVS directly across the street. The water taxi stops right at the door, and the galleria is just next door. Thee are also good restaurants within walking distance, as well as a couple of beach joints and a burgerfi for good burgers and beach grub and a dos equis or 2. The Blue Martini is also next door with Happy Hour from 2-8PM. That's the yummy martinis and the apps to go with. We really lucked out. We'll take a cab from the Oasis and to the Allure rather than wait for the shuttle. It's all good

On the Enchantment for our B2B, hubby had 2 bottles in his carry on and I had 2 bottles in mine. We were allowed thru with our bottles. I will add that we went in separate security x-ray lines. They did pull him aside to check the bottles of Pepsi he was also carrying, but let him go after inspecting them.

Was this in Baltimore? We are doing a B2B on GRandeur in a little over 3 weeks and had planned to try this route as well.

Thanks!

Yes, it was on the Enchantment when it was here in Baltimore. Just do separate lines. Enjoy your cruise.
