Is the Serenity deck for people over 18 or over 21 years old?

I actually agree with this. Space for us adults is already limited in that area as is. It wouldn't be a big deal if only one person did it but the mentality of so many seem to be if others break this rule I will as well. It is frustrating to go to the adult area and see youngsters in the hot tub no matter how mature or quiet they are.

You are not alone.....there aren't too many adult only areas onboard the ship. It's nice to have a place where we can go to relax, get away from the noise and enjoy ourselves.

If it says 21 and over there's no reason that kids should even be around....

I am with the ones that say she should not be there. I do not care how well behaved she is or who she is with. If her butt is taking a seat, that is a seat that is not available for someone who has the right to be there.

I wonder how she would feel if she was 21 and looking for a seat and found 18 yr olds there in the place she could be sitting.

Yeah the hell with rules, it's ok for you to break them. but what about that 17 yr old that looks older, how about the 15 yr old with all the makeup who looks older, where does it end. Why does everyone think it's ok for them to break the rules. No kids in the hottub, well that doesn't apply to my kid, next thing you know a hot tub full of kids. Why can't my kid go into the red frog pub, he likes the chicken wings, who cares if it makes the other adults uncomfortable. Might as well sneak some alcohol on board while you're at it.[/

Rules are made to be broken!!! Besides last time I checked Carnival doesn't charge less for children. If you don't like kids in certain areas maybe you should step your game up and hit up an adults only cruise!!!!😉😉😉

Once again what gives you the right to say that, if she pays the same price as you????

She's a really quiet kid, and the rest of the group is between 45 and 75 years old. None of us are exactly wild and crazy so I doubt we would draw attention to ourselves. I guess we'll play it by ear and see what happens. If we all have to sit somewhere else it wouldn't be tragic, it would just be nice to enjoy the serenity deck for a change.

Actually, there are other areas on decks that are far less congested than Serenity. Serenity gives a false security feeling, but usually very crowded.

Why? Carnival provides an ADULT ONLY area.

You are kidding me right?

Ummm... The rules which state over 21 only give her the right to say that.

Just because you are a paying passenger doesn't give you access to everything. Otherwise kids would be in the casino and adults could go to the kids clubs/areas.

While this thing starts to spin out of control, let me just say that the Braves won their game on Wednesday. Oh! I just broke a rule by stating what happened in a major league baseball game. However, that's not why that rule is put in place. It's there for other reasons. OP, go for it. Nobody will care. Anyone who does care is apparently way too perfect of a person.

I really don't care who sits in what area, 21 or not. However I find it funny that people act like everyone should only have to follow the rules that bother them.

Should I tell people it's ok to smoke where ever they want because it doesn't bother me and then call you a baby if you complain that you don't think it's right to not follow the rules?

Or the people that hog 15 chairs all day by the pool. I don't like to lay out in the sun so again I don't care if people do this. I guess it's ok for me to tell people to hog all they want since yet again this is another rule that doesn't bother me.

I could go on and on. But the point is rules are in place for a reason. It isn't just the rules that bother YOU that should be enforced.

I would recommend she not try to consume an adult beverage and especially not order one in the area.

They carded my kids when they were 24-27 even after I told the server that they were my kids and they were of age.

They had to go get their driver's license to get served at a past guest party.

So this is probably good advice.

Now if they could get rid of the loud people in the hot tub...

And why are there always loud people in the hot tub?

I guess I won't say much about how the older kids shared a room despite Carnival's policy about having someone over 25 in a cabin with anyone under 25. These are not legislated and, as everyone knows, some of those are ridiculous and need to be changed. I'm not saying Carnival's rules are ridiculous- one must consider what the goal is and behave accordingly.

Besides the fact that your post is incorrect.

Totally agree! I'm sure the OP will not be on the same cruises I will be taking later this year but it's just a matter of principles. I have a hunch that those in favor of her doing this are those that pay no attention to the rules themselves. This is exactly the type of things that give cruiselines a bad rep. Rules in place but nobody follows them. I know this is not the biggest of deals and I believe if she is going to do so she is going to do so regardless of what we all say in here, but since the question was asked just turn it around and think when her group of 7 ages 45-75 go looking for seats and see teenagers sitting around in various areas in Serenity, tell me how that would feel.

IMHO I think they should allow the 18-20 yo to go there or offer another place just for them to hang out. They aren't allowed in the teen clubs and they aren't allowed in the Serenity area, but they are allowed in all the other "adult" areas. I doesn't make sense that this is the one "adult" area they are not allowed to go. FWIW I don't consider 18-20 yo to be kids...they are adults with adult responsibilities.

The body may be, but statistically, not the mind. And that controls the actions.

Depends on the person. My DS who is 19 has acted more mature and in an adult manner than many people twice his age for years. He is an adult at 19 and I respect him enough to treat him as such. According to Carnival he is adult enough to go into the Casino and Bars late at night, which are considered for adults only too, and he is considered too old for the teen club so why shouldn't he be allowed in the Serenity Area with the other adults?
