Hi again everybody!!! Time to finish up our HMC day, then perhaps get started with our day in Nassau.

Well, now we are on the last tender and waiting for the crew to finish loading the stuff they have to bring back to the ship….

Here are a couple of final parting shots, as we sailed away from paradise. Can’t wait to visit here yet again!!

The sun is beginning to set on an amazing day….

We decided to skip dinner in the MDR tonight. Ryan went off to hang with his Club O2 friends, and Patti and I headed down to the casino for a while. I won a little bit, but I’m still down for the cruise. Patti asked me to join her at tonight’s Pick your Prize bingo session. I was a little bit hesitant to go with her, since she had won three times already with me not there, so I didn’t want to jinx her. Now, the winner of this game could either pick a 7 day cruise for 2, or take $750 in cash. If there were multiple winners there would be a tiebreaker. The game began, and they ask that when you are one number away from winning, you are to stand up. Sure enough, it wasn’t long before Patti was standing up, so Graham, one of the entertainers who had seen Patti win three times already, jokingly asked her to please sit down. However, on the next number called, three people yelled “Bingo!!”, but Patti wasn’t one of them. The three winners decided to split the cash instead of having a tiebreaker, so there were three happy people with $250 apiece!!

Afterwards, we decided to head to the Deli for some late night sandwiches before they closed at 11pm. A couple of grilled ham, cheese, and tomato sandwiches sure hit the spot. I went to the Seaside Theater to watch the Miami / Houston pre-season football game for a while, and Patti went to check emails, but again, the internet service was non-existent. The internet manager again assured Patti that we would be credited back for the minutes we had tried to use. We’ll see. Tonight, Quest was being held in the El Morocco Lounge. This is strictly an adults only event, that if you are offend easily, you should stay away from. Enough said, GREAT fun!!

Back to the cabin, and of course another towel animal awaited us…..

There was also a letter from the Captain, explaining why we were going to arrive in Nassau a lot earlier than planned. I’ll let you read it. Goodnight!!

Welcome to Nassau!!!!

The Carnival Splendor arrived in Nassau at exactly 2:30am, just like the letter had said. How do I know that? I was woken up by the vibration from the stern thrusters, as the Splendor spun around to back into her berth. Both Patti and Ryan never even stirred. I stepped out onto the balcony to watch us back in. The Carnival Imagination was in port on her overnight in Nassau, while on her three day cruise from Miami. The sounds of music and laughter were in the air, even at this late hour. Once we were docked, I went back to bed for the rest of the night.

After waking up, I put on my bathrobe and snapped a few pictures from the balcony….

Ryan wanted to sleep in for a little while, so Patti and I went up to the Lido for our usual omelette breakfast. Patti and Ryan are going to do the Segway thing this afternoon, so she wanted to go ashore this morning to do a little shopping and take some pictures. I went back to the cabin to relax on the balcony for a bit, while Patti left the ship…..

Now Patti has officially begun her walking / shopping tour, happily snapping pictures along the way. While on the ship, Ryan got up and made his way to breakfast, and I tried once again to check emails. The internet service is working very well today, and the internet manager has credited all the minutes we wasted the last two days back into our account. All is well. Back to Patti for her pictures….

Wonderful report. I did a similar itinerary several years ago when Carnival Miracle was doing the New York sailings. It's a terrific itinerary if you like beaches. I've been to HMC a number of times on both HAL and Carnival. Some of the softest sand my tooties ever sank into. Those fish you photographed, I believe are pompano and they become very aggressive when someone feeds them. My friend threw bits of hot dog bun in the water and it looked like piranha were in the water. Loved Grand Turk too. Having the beach right by the dock is terrific. No safari bus trips. I just booked the Carnival Splendor for a December cruise but unfortunately the itinerary is not anywhere near as good as yours.

Patti took quite a few pictures of Senor Frogs, shown here before it opened, because knowing that I would be coming here later, she wanted me to remember what the place looked like!!! Good thinking Patti!!!

I was nosey and snooped thru some of your pictures! :o We sailed on Splendor in May and were in the L shaped extended balcony cabin right next to yours. We have the same cabin but on the starboard side booked for February. We ALWAYS seem to book port side cabins, so we thought we would shake it up a little and live dangerously! :p;)

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I loved it so much. We have visited these ports a couple of times and loved them as well.

I am deciding on 3 ships for next summer to book out of ny and think you made up my mind.

Glad you had a great vacation!!!

Thank you

Patti completed her walk, then came back aboard ship to collect Ryan for their Segway tour. They bumped into our room stewards, so she finally got them together for a photo. Meet Anak and Supartha from Indonesia…..

A710.JPG

I walked Patti and Ryan off the ship and wished them a good time. I was going to take a walk over to Senor Frog’s for a little while. Once there, I bumped into a couple of roll call friends. The place was packed and really jumping!! Two yards of Goombay Smashes, and two shots of Te-kill-ya later, it was time to head back to the ship!!! Meanwhile Patti and Ryan had made it to their tour.
