LuvWilliam Posted September 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I know, I know. Another tipping question! We always prepay gratuities (no, not asking to remove them!) We were just wondering how much people tip for dinner in the windjammer? I know it is optional but if someone will be getting us a drink and clearing our plates we'd like to leave something if excellent service.
Rare pasodancer Posted September 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I always carry a couple of ones w/ me for cases like this.

Cigar King Posted September 9, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I always give a buck or two. Usually I do it when they bring the drinks. When we have had dinner in the WJ, I'll leave something on the table when we leave.
Langley Cruisers Posted September 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2013 Your prepaid tips cover the servers in the Windjammer as they all alternate taking turns in there. You will see name cards for the servers on the tables, with their country and their staff position (Elizabeth, Trinidad and Tobago, Assistant Waiter - for example). We have seen our waiter, assistant waiter, and head waiter all working Windjammer. Having said that, we do not tip extra but you absolutely may do so at your discretion. Yes, a couple of bucks would be acceptable and appreciated, but they are not expecting it. :)
Tucker in Texas Posted September 9, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I've learned a dollar or two repays me several times over. A lot of times, the server sees me coming and "escorts" me to a nice table and immediately gets my drinks while I graze. Then he/she will check back to ask if I need another drink, something from the buffet they can fetch, whatever. If it is breakfast/lunch and they see me coming, they will find me a seat often busing a table to do so. Small bucks, big rewards! Zigggypup Posted September 9, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 9, 2013 If the service is really good, I'll give them 5 bucks. I've been in the Windjammer when the service was just ok. Other times I've had the plates cleared really quick and they offer to get you beverages.
marci22 Posted September 9, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I leave $3-5 if someone is particularly helpful. We usually only eat at WJ for lunch.
Rare marielco Posted September 9, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I don't usually tip in the Windjammer as the waiters there also work in the MDR and they get tip there.

cb at sea Posted September 9, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 9, 2013 There is no need to tip in the WJ...but, some do! The suggested tips cover everyone who serves you everywhere...except for room service delivery.
