I don't think your review is fair there are no specific details only how long each activity was. Well how much do you believe this feature is worth?

see 2/3 posts before this one

it was on the freedom of the seas.

room was decorated when we got there

1st meet up was the tea party it was about 30 mins long

2nd meet up was the designer dressing which was also about 30 mins long

3rd meet up was the mermaid dancing 30-45 mins long

4th meet up was the fashion show which was about 30 long __________________

OK..have to admit here..appreciate some ship is doing this...hours and hours of Barbie with my sisters and collecting a bit in my mid 30s to around 40 and going to her 35th birthday in Florida..Barbie and I were same age ..LOL..was the best. I am just glad some mom's and kids can enjoy it..attention spans are sort and leave them wanting next thing is a good idea I think so family can get all the other things in..hard to plan..seems expensive but when you know the events and all...if they had a real designer on board and all that would be great..that was so great abt Florida WDW and all the real Barbie people so paying that price you should get some real Mattle people IMHO..Sarah

Also like idea to do Barbie things with little ones on your own when traveling..we took our with us..LOL..Mom found the ticket to keep us occupied..but hate idea of kid seeing other party activities if not involved in it..like my niece knowing when she did not get the REAL Christmas Barbie, but the Costco one..I don't know..it also sets up too much competition stuff..want it to be just fun for them...sarah

I can't fathom paying $350 for a few 30 minutes events + decorations. But I highly admit I'm cheap!

We let DS spend $20 in the arcade on his b-day while on the cruise and he thought that was so amazing.

The cruise has so many fun experiences anyways, plus if you are on a bigger ship the character interactions... I just don't see why the Barbie experience is needed.

But hey, if there is a market for those who are willing to pay it.....they will continue to ask $350. I bet they could have filled the room for $100 experience.

Just because the cruiseline offers things, does not mean they do it well.

I would never waste money on something like that on a ship for my kid.

I figure they are lucky just to go on the cruise in the first place.

That there is plenty..

I completely agree...they could have a slumber party at OA with a tea party for girls and instead of spending 350.00 on barbie they could take a collection for the volcanoes victims etc, in some of the ports we visits, or make cards for someone at home who needs cheering up...ya know do something to help others while having fun with new friends...

We who cruise are all so blessed...

sigh, perhaps it will prevent another from spending their money in a way in which didn't have a value to it as some may assume? Isn't that the point of a review... feedback? Even good "negative feedback" from a poster? When I need a lesson on where and how to spend my money, I'll look you up.

Easy...I was not judging you so please don't be so quick to judge my comments... I even looked into it...the price was too high for us..on the 3 night it is $75.00. I was suggesting RCI might do something like that for the kids, not that you should do it....

I was looking into this for a Cruise in April and it looks like the price is $199. It is for a 7 day cruise on the Oasis of the sea. Yet it does not say it includes the tea party, which seems strange, however for a $150 discount over the original $350 it's not bad. I mean especially if you are getting the doll, cloths, blanket and then add to it the experiences. My daughter loves this one episode of Barbie where she is showing her friend how to walk down a runway and likes to act it out, so I know she will like the fashion show.

It's unfortunate that your daughter didn't enjoy the experience, although I'm not sure why you would have expected other passengers to come watch little girls parade around in a "fashion show." I somehow don't see this as being high on the list of activities for the average passenger.

I can't imagine who else would go watch a fashion show of little girls that don't belong to them. Much like I wouldn't expect your kids to sit and watch me gamble in the casino or hang out at the pool bar. Although I'm sorry it wasn't a good experience.

I totally agree. They would have to pay more than that $350 to watch. As for the pirates Parade being in the cruise compass, from the reports they Parade through the ship, so it´s good to know when and where to avoid it. Fortunately I´ve only had to see it once in the MDR. Otherwise I´m happy having missed it.

we booked this for our daughter she had fun but in no way was it worth 350.00. it was about a total of 5 hrs of the week she spent doing the "barbie thing" and on the big fashion show it seemed like the crew didnt really try to hard to get the kids to participate. the big fashion show at the end had only the familys of the kids who were in it and in a small venue. i think there were 6 kids

just my 2 cents glad she did it wont do it again

Sorry but who in the world would care to watch that OTHER than the families of the kids in the program? Where should they do it at the main theater with nobody there? You choose the venue (small) to go witht he interest or in the case of a kids fashion show more appropriately LACK of any interest. Although yes there is no way we would pay $350 for that. I would stick with the FREE adventure ocean program.

I'm puzzled as to why you think other pax would be particularly interested in watching other peoples' little girls playing dress up?

Ok so just got off the Oasis of the Seas. The fashion design event was on Tuesday at 5, the mermaid dance on Thursday at 5, and the fashion show was on Friday with the rehearsal started at 3:15 and the show at 4. My daughter had a doll with accessories, pillow cover, blanket, lanyard, and tooth brush waiting for her when we entered the room. The door also had a magnet and door hanging tag signifying she was a Barbie girl. Ours magnet got stolen, so I would suggest bringing it into the room. At the fashion show the girls were given ( to borrow) a tutu, sun glasses, and boa. After the fashion show she received another doll. My daughter loved it.

How many actually go to watch that who don't have a child in the march? Again, few to none.

How many parents would really want a bunch of unknown adults to show up and watch their young daughter parade around in a fashion show? It could be an invitation to the wrong element.

For what's included, and the time involved, the price tag seems excessive.

I would have happily paid the price for the Barbie Experience IF they had something equivalent for the boys. I can well imagine the look on my little guy's face if his sister got something special, with events to go to when he didn't. Or have a theme that would appeal to all kids.

But I will admit, both kids were thrilled with the kid's camp. No real need to spend the extra cash, but indulgence is fun too :)

Ya, my son is only 3 and normally not into things like that so I thought he would not care. But he flipped out during the fashion show saying how he wants to do it. I think it started a bad trend cause then today he was upset about not having piano class like his sister....
