I am glad to see some of you posting the description stating "upgraded buffet" so we can prove that was what we thought we were purchasing even so RC claims it never happened.

Does anyone have a screen shot of the actual page from their website?

I have a screen shot and the PDF from RCCL showing it listed in their own description. If they call today like they said they would I am going to send it to them.

The water was nice but we used the cooler more to order extra beer and drinks to keep them cool.....

We did the same, it was nice to keep beer on ice. But if you no longer get the water, I doubt you'll have the cooler..... what would be the point?

6 bottles of water have been added? It used to be three before it was none. Really? I looked yesterday and it had no water listed. What the heck are they doing? DH and I usually drink ONE and bring back what's left. That doesn't make up for the buffet.

I agree it is heading in the right direction. Let's hope they bring back the up graded buffet. Has anyone heard back for Rccl? I still have not heard a thing.

My order history also shows the addition of cooler with 6 waters, but still has the other 3 cafes listed for lunch. I checked the excursion web page for Labadee on the RCI website, and its description has also changed to include the cooler with the 6 waters.

My concern with the other venues for lunch is how inconvenient it will be more than the difference in the menu. I looked at the map of Labadee and none of the 3 cafes listed are near Nellie's Beach. Having 2 young children in our group, I booked this thinking it would make getting food much easier. Nellie's Tavern is close by but it is not one of the 3 stated in the description and although it shows a knife and fork indicating food, I do not know if that means snacks or meals.

If the attendants used a cart to escort Nellie Cabana people to Barefoot, will they do the same to get all the way to the far side of Columbus Cove, Adrenaline Beach, or Dragon's Plaza? Or, was this escort just to make sure only eligible people arrived at Barefoot?

My guess is shorex was busy with all our emails today and quickly added the bottled water/cooler. Haven't heard back from them but anxious to see how they address the lunch issue.

My call today resulted in an email from the RCI rep I spoke with confirming that the upscale buffet IS included in Nellie's Beach cabanas. I have forwarded that to the shore excursions desk for confirmation, as I doubt the email from the rep, helpful as she was, will get me anywhere.

The lack of communication and consistency in information is aggravating.

More people have to email them to show them that not everyone is happy about the changes.

E-mail sent and phone calls are frustrating....had two different responses.

Nothing yet from e-mail Anyone want to provide Adam G's e-mail?

We booked/paid on 6/10/13 for a 5/4/14 sailing on Allure.

Waiting to see what comes from all this...hoping for the best:)

Agree these two threads need to be combined!!!

I just emailed the "shorex" email address, to express my displeasure with hearing this news.

We have a Nellie's cabana booked for next April, and I can tell you, the removal of the upgraded buffet IS a serious downgrade to us.

Why?

This was our experience:

We had a Nellie's Beach Cabana a year ago, on our Freedom of the Seas cruise.

We aren't early birds, so when our attendant told us lunch was ready at noon, we said, thanks, but we'll just wait a while.

Close to 1 PM we decided to head over for lunch.

There was ZERO lineup, and in fact, only one other table was occupied.

We grabbed our tray, and looked at the offering. DW looked at the steaks and asked the server what were the chances of finding one that was rare (how she likes beef). He said Zero, but wait just a minute and he'll cook up one just how she likes it.

He asked if I wanted a steak, and I said no, but I like shrimp skewers, so with that he puts on about 6 new shrimp skewers for me.

While they were cooking, I walked 10 feet to a small bar that was set up there, (again no lineup) and got a couple of ice cold beers. Grabbed our HOT food and got a quiet table in the shade.

Talk about NICE! :) No lineups - steak and shrimp cooked to order, no flies, or bees (like we experienced at the main food place in prior years).

Right then and there, DW & I decided - this is THE LIFE :) and we will do this on our next visit to Labadee.

Well, guess what? :( I'm choked.

Personally I couldn't care less about the water - we drink beer.

(I think we used two of the bottles to wash our feet and rinse out our suits, and took the 3rd one back up to the room. Not sure if we ever drank it)

This was also our experience and the upgraded lunch being taken away is probably reason for us to cancel our two cabanas in January. I'm waiting to hear a response to my emails. Hope it's just a rumor or IT problem
