lego7191 Posted October 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2013 Posted this on Bahamas board but hoping for a quick answer and not sure how much traffic that board gets. For recent Nassau cruisers - does the big building that houses the shops at the end of the pier still offer free Wi-Fi? thanks in advance!
golfadj Posted October 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2013 I dont think so. Last time end of last year saw about 20 people with laptops sitting outside a bank just outside the pier and thought they were cruisers.
onegroundcafe Posted October 13, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2013 It used to, when we went on September 28th 2013 it longer had it (at least we could not get on) and there were not hoards of other people hanging around with internet as per usual. It was sad my hubby looks forward to that part.
Kokomo_Man Posted October 14, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2013 I recommend you take the short walk through town to Duncan Donuts. They always have good wifi in there... and good coffee... and good donuts! You do have to buy something to get their code. Did I mention good donuts?:D I will be there Tuesday and I'll post something if I find out they have wifi in the port terminal. You can follow my adventure to Nassau and other places aboard the Carnival Victory at this cruisecritic link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1928390 Bob Searching for Kokomo
Ashland Posted October 14, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Just returned onboard Oasis...and "no" free wifi anywhere..we used a bar across from an internet cafe (you had to buy at least a drink) which was ok with us...You were just able to access (no code necessary) but those that just walked up and tried, they were quickly shooed away by a large employee that kept watch. MarlboroBell Posted October 14, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2013 The Starbucks across the street from the right-hand port gate (as you leave the port) has good cheap (but not free) wi-fi. We spent a couple of blissful hours there last year, and we're probably going to do the same this year.

NCTribeFan Posted October 17, 2013 #9 Share Posted October 17, 2013 I've never had any problem connecting to the wi-fi at the port (Festival Place), including at the beginning of September.
gadaboutgal Posted October 19, 2013 #10 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Just there this week and the free wifi is no longer in Festival Marketplace. We port there very often, and this is a big disappointment, I am sure it is for the ships' crews, also.
cruising forever Posted November 4, 2013 #11 Share Posted November 4, 2013 Docked in Nassau last week; NO wifi at Festival Place any longer; shows network is there, but no way to access. Not a single crew member was there either (definite sign no wifi) as there were usually about 25 or so with their laptops going at it.................very disappointing; the day pass at the British Colonial Hilton (next to the Froggie) does have free wifi :)
scubagirrl Posted November 4, 2013 #12 Share Posted November 4, 2013 Just a heads up for those who want to connect. Nassau is having a big issue with these networks being hacked. Gov't is trying to get it figured out. In the meantime, I wouldn't connect to any network (even a paid login) with a device that has bank info, logins or anything else that should be secure. Even our home networks are being compromised.
tjmcdona Posted November 26, 2013 #13 Share Posted November 26, 2013 Has this problem been solved yet? Normally, I wouldn't care, but I may have someone contacting me about a job interview while I'm on vacation.
Gardeneroflove Posted November 28, 2013 #14 Share Posted November 28, 2013 We always ask our server the night before! They ALWAYS know where the starbucks and free wifi is!

I just wouldn't use a computer with bank or personall info on it. Perhaps a phone or tablet would be more secure.
