Sea pass questions

Are the sea passes the size of a regular credit card? What is the best way to keep then on you? Lanyard? Are they issued to you when you check in?

Thank you

Exactly. You will receive them when you check-in at the cruise pier. They are credit card sized and fit easily into your wallet or purse I suppose. I always have my wallet on me, lanyards you can forget to put on if you're not used to wearing them every day.

You'd be surprised to see how fast you'll adapt if you lock yourself out the first time ;D

I religiously put my sea pass card in my wallet. I wear a lanyard for work and still almost walk out the door without it, the wallet is always there force of habit.

I keep my sign'n sale slid in my bra. My husband keeps his in his pocket. It is much easier for me to pull it out for a drink or whatever. He has to stand up to get into his pocket. When we leave the ship then it goes in my pocket with my driver's license. I don't carry a purse or even have a wallet at home or on a cruise.

If you lose it, go to the purser's desk and they will give you a new one. If you lock it in your cabin, you get one that only opens your cabin door. If you've really lost it the old one will be canceled and a new one issued.

Keep your sea pass card away from your cell phone. The phone will "zap" the card and it won't work. I had my phone and sea pass in the same pocket and I was locked out of my room.

I had an aft cabin and just walked all the way to it to find my card not working. My cabin attendant happen to be near by and let me in but did inform me to keep the card away from the phone. Had to walk all the way back to the lobby to get the card replaced, then all he way back. The only time I regretted having an aft cabin.

I find a lanyard most convenient. The pursers desk or the casino will punch a hole in it for you.

Ditto. As far as forgetting it, I hang mine on the door knob. Regarding the card on the lanyard, if you also carry your camera on a neck strap, you'll run a good chance of demagnetizing your card.

It's just like a credit card or a hotel room key....I carry a small purse, hubby puts his in his pocket. (I need to have comb, lipstick, tissues, etc....handy)

We don't carry a hotel key around our neck...why would be carry a ship's key around our neck?

If you lose more than 4 you get charged $5 for the fifth one.

Kids now use lanyards, lol.

Before we leave the cabin, I always make my husband SHOW ME his card...several times, he has said "Yes, I have it" only to discover that no, he does not!

I don't like to carry a purse/bag onboard, so I get the lanyard. I don't wear it around my neck, but rather coil it several times and put it around my wrist, then push it up to my elbow. Probably looks weird, but that doesn't bother me.
