Out to sea! Posted October 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) Yes it does, you get priority debarkation with Zone 1 tickets. Could be off the ship by 0730, maybe 0800. CARNIVAL’S FASTER TO THE FUN PACKAGE: BOOK IT TODAY TO JUMPSTART THE FUN Here's what it includes: (Note: VIFP Club Platinum and Diamond members do not need to purchase this package as these and other benefits are included as part of your VIFP Club status.) Priority Check-in with Express Boarding The quicker you board the ship, the quicker you're holding a frosty drink. Guaranteed Stateroom Your stateroom will be ready as soon as you board, so you can relax or freshen up for the fun you're about to have. Express Luggage Your luggage will be expedited to your stateroom so you can unpack and get settled in for a great vacation! Guest Services You'll have a dedicated phone number and line at Guest Services so you can quickly have your questions answered. Dining Reservations Priority Main Dining Room and Specialty Restaurant reservations. Tender Priority You will have the option to choose a priority tender from the ship to shore (multiple departure times may be possible), so you can explore ashore as quickly as you would like. Debarkation We're always sad to see you go. But when your cruise is over, you may choose an early or late disembarkation time upon arrival to your homeport. Edited October 19, 2013 by Out to sea! HO HO Posted October 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Usually, Diamond/Platinum/Suites/FTTF are all in Zone 1. They will have everyone in the dining room just behind the atrium lobby bar and after the self-carry folks are off, they'll begin to let the Zone 1 off....last June we were off the FREEDOM and on our way by 8:45 (and that's after getting our luggage, going through customs and waiting for the shuttle to take us to the parking lot....) Randy & Carmen Posted October 19, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Unfortunately due to flight constraints I will need to disembark asap on my cruise Feb 16,2014 Conquest. How fast could I get off if I have FTTF? If you can carry your own luggage off (self assist) then you can be ahead of zone 1. :)
JMAE Posted October 19, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Just got off the Pride last Sunday with FTTF debark started at 8:30 I was driving home at 8:45.
Jrw118 Posted October 19, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted October 19, 2013 WOW thanks very much. Hoping to change flight but if I can't before 9 would be perfect.
MichelleChell Posted October 19, 2013 #8 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Do self assist and you get off before FTTF. FTTF gets zone 1.
CalaDragonflyLady Posted October 19, 2013 #9 Share Posted October 19, 2013 I self-disembark, and it was a free-for-all before FTTF (at least in my recent experience, a year ago). I got the usual numbered tags in my cabin the night before, but there was also a separate notice about self-disembarking (something like "If you are on deck 7, be in the Sapphire dining room deck 3 by 6:30am"). What wasn't clear until we got there was that they prioritized platinum & diamond (no problem with that), then FTTF, then I am assuming anyone else who was participating in self-disembark. It was actually fairly smooth, and I was off the ship by around 7am :)

Rare Jamman54 Posted October 19, 2013 #11 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Here's how it goes, or is supposed to.... Self Assist debarkation - Diamond / Platinum, then FTTF go first, then everybody else (by deck), after which..... Zone debarkation - Diamond / Platinum / FTTF get Zone 1 tags, then everybody else (by zone #). I have seen some cases where the Zone 1's were allowed to begin debarking before the self assist was completed. Depends how fast the luggage is unloaded from the ship, and how everything is flowing. august1963 Posted October 19, 2013 #12 Share Posted October 19, 2013 What is self assist? Does that mean you have to carry all of your own luggage? We are Platinum and have booked an 11:20 a.m. flight out of Orlando...cruise docks in Port Canaveral. What time will we be able to get off the Sunshine? I know we will have the one hour drive to Orlando. And I think we can get priority debarkation. Does the Sunshine actually dock in Florida the night before? Thanks to anybody that has been on this ship recently and knows the answers. Deb
SadieN Posted October 19, 2013 #13 Share Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) Yep, Self assist means that you take off all your luggage yourself, with no help. Do not put your luggage into the hallway. Platinum does get early debarkation. You cannot get off the ship until it has been cleared by the authorities. Does not make any difference when the ship gets into port. BubMunkeyBles Posted October 19, 2013 #14 Share Posted October 19, 2013 I'd walk off verse doing luggage out. My two semi recent Ecstasy cruises both didn't disembark until a little after 9 with FTTF.
RWolver672 Posted October 19, 2013 #15 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Does the Sunshine actually dock in Florida the night before? No, they usually dock around 6am on the day of disembarkation.
Cruisin 4 Ever Posted October 19, 2013 #16 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Unfortunately due to flight constraints I will need to disembark asap on my cruise Feb 16,2014 Conquest. How fast could I get off if I have FTTF? I would say do self assist, but don't count on being off the ship before 9. It is possible it could be earlier, but I have done self assist before (which is the earliest you can get off) and the debarkation didn't start until 8:45. It all depends on how quickly the ship is cleared.

When you fill in your information, was there indication of needing early off because of a flight? The airport there can be a beast at times. lucybug Posted October 19, 2013 #21 Share Posted October 19, 2013 If you have early flight no matter what you take your boarding pass to guest services they will exchange luggage tags for zone one. You just have to be smart enough to get down to the waiting area early.
Lizzrd4483 Posted October 21, 2013 #22 Share Posted October 21, 2013 We had a flight out of FLL before noon but were told even though we had FTTF zone 2 was the lowest we could get. Just to be safe we did self assist. Got to the Dining room at 6 and was off the ship, through customs, in a shuttle an by and headed to the airport by 6:40. We each had 1 large bag (me, dh, 12y/o ds) and 2 carry ons. no issues!

kelkel2 Posted April 14, 2014 #24 Share Posted April 14, 2014 You do not need FTTF or platinum or diamond status to self assist. Anyone can get it. The night they start passing out luggage tags and asking you to put your luggage in the hall, just go to the desk and ask for self assist tags. Honestly I don't really think you need the tags, but I would put them on just to be safe. That's it. All you need to do is ask. Just make sure you can handle your luggage. Even down several flights of stairs. We had one cruise where we couldn't catch an elevator for the life of us and just said "forget it", well actually the words may not have been so nice but my husband and I had to carry our luggage all the way down to whatever deck we exited the ship from. Let me tell you that sucks. So, don't count on elevators. Make absolutely sure you can handle your luggage. I love self assist and will always do it that way. I don't like going to look for my luggage in a sea of luggage and usually if you do self assist you are the first few people through customs and the lines are short if there even are lines. SO, yes you can get to the airport very quickly...
LeisaH3067 Posted April 14, 2014 #25 Share Posted April 14, 2014 Unfortunately due to flight constraints I will need to disembark asap on my cruise Feb 16,2014 Conquest. How fast could I get off if I have FTTF? We just got off the Liberty on Saturday and had FTTF. We were with the Diamond/Platinum members in a room at 6:45, escorted off the ship by 7, through customs and in our car by 7:20. We would have been in the car by 7:10 but the Liberty came back a little farther from the parking garage and we had to haul all our stuff.
