Beverage policy (soda)

Silly question. Actually, two silly questions:

Do you need to bring soda as a carry on, or can you tape a luggage tag to a case and have it brought to your cabin?

I can only drink flat soda, and I love my diet Mt Dew that I let sit for a week uncapped. We're driving to port, so I'll be able to bring my supply. But will they think I'm trying to smuggle booze and confiscate it, since it won't be sealed?

Serious question...

where may I drink my own soda? Is it like my own wine -- in my cabin only?

Can I bring it to the Lido??? To the pool???

I bring a reusable mug and take it wherever I wish filled with whatever I want (usually soda that I have carried on, but sometimes iced tea or hot tea from the Lido).

We just got back and brought on 2 cases - brought and drank it everywhere; including the dining room where we just asked for glasses with ice.

Is this actually allowed according to 'policy', or is it a case of no one saying anything about it?
