Dave85 Posted November 25, 2013 #101 Share Posted November 25, 2013 From officers on board EN we were told OasisIII would homeport in Hong Kong.Rick and Deirdra LOL that's a new one. If an Oasis ship were to go East (wouldn't completely surprise me) I'd be surprised if it was the new one -- rather, I think sending Oasis I (like sending Voyager) would be more likely. It will be interesting to see if Allure returns to USA after dry dock.
shipfriend_max Posted November 26, 2013 #103 Share Posted November 26, 2013 Would OASIS/ALLURE fit through the locks of the Suez Canal?? If EXPLORER really moves to Asia from March/April 2015 after her refit, I think it is hard to believe that an Oasis ship follows... Three large Voyager ships are definitely enough for Asia, aren't they? It is rather likely that a Freedom-class-ship sails there... Or maybe QUANTUM III will be deployed in Asia, but even there I am not sure. As far as I heard, OASIS III may be based in Port Canaveral... Ocean Boy Posted November 26, 2013 #105 Share Posted November 26, 2013 Suez canal has no locks. In which case the answer could be yes or no.:p
shipfriend_max Posted November 26, 2013 #106 Share Posted November 26, 2013 Suez canal has no locks. Okay. But althugh Suez Canal has no locks I cannot really believe that one of the Oasis class ships could move to Asia... There I think of a third Voyager ship or at best a Freedom ship... AllaGeorge Posted November 27, 2013 #107 Share Posted November 27, 2013 Having the Anthem sail out of Southampton has a benefit that you won't get when it is in Florida. When we sailed on the Indy this spring the average age on board was well into "OLD". Being in my early sixties that should give you a point of reference. My point is that the entertainment venues on board (sky diving, bumper cars, flow rider) will be relatively empty so you can enjoy them as much as you like without waiting on long lines. It might be hard to find a seat in Two70 as many of them maybe sleeping, bless their hearts, in place. Looking forward to trying her out!

I read somewhere recently that RCI hired a firm in UK to market to youngsters. So I think they want all ages to enjoy the new ship.
