dcrow72 Posted November 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Two more sort of dumb questions. Pictures of the ship all show a forward lower deck pool but none of the deck plans show it? Is there a forward pool? The other question is for my DH who hasn't quit smoking. Is there still smoking in the casino or out on the promenade deck somewhere? With the open casino I didn't think that smoking would be allowed. We have a forward cabin and he's worried about where he might go for that lousy cig! sunsetbeachgal Posted November 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2013 (edited) The forward pool is on an upper deck...it is the Retreat Pool. No lower deck forward pool. There was smoking allowed on the outside promenade, I seem to remember on the rear promenade area starboard side. There was smoking permitted in the casino, but there are some non smoking nights. We were on the Royal in July...if anything has changed I'm sure someone will give updated information. terrierjohn Posted November 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2013 From recent pictures of P&O's Britannia, Royal's sister, there is a pool forward on the Promenade deck, BUT this is in the crew only area. I assume Royal Princess also features this crew pool.

You might be referring to the pool that staff have access. It is located on the bow.
SwissDave Posted November 25, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Unless it's changed, the smoking areas are: Churchills (next to club 6) Casino (one side only) Horizon Terrace (Starboard side only) Promenade deck,(Aft Starboard only) There are the only places smoking is (was??) allowed. I also had a forward cabin and except for going down a few floors to Churchill's it was a long walk to the aft smoking areas.

I don't smoke, but did note all these areas when we were on the Royal last week. In addition, there is a smoking area on the Sun Deck, just above the Horizon Terrace.
