SetAnOpenCourse Posted November 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2013 Today I booked a cruise for Dec. 1 which is less than a week away. Our category is HH Guarantee. I was already sent an upgrade offer: VQ-VH or CA-F for $79 or $39 respectively. From what I've read so far about the staterooms, I'm not interested in this deal; besides, the price would end up practically the same as what I could have booked those categories at. The offer does not say whether we'd remain in "Guarantee" status with potential for another upgrade at no cost. Did I receive this offer in lieu of being given (without extra charge) a higher category based on the Guarantee? By ignoring it, will I be forfeiting a chance at another upgrade (either the no-charge kind, or a different offer that has a charge)? Thanks! Rare Keith1010 Posted November 26, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2013 Just wanted to welcome you to Cruise Critic and I agree that all of your HAL related questions are best asked on the HAL Cruise Line Board. Keith
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 26, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2013 Welcome to Cruise Critic. That is not an upgrade. That is an upsell. This close to your sailing date, there will be very few offers. And no -- HAL doesn't upgrade in steps.
