Ed Posted November 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2013 I have been starting to look for one way air from Miami to Barcelona for our TA cruise in Oct 2014. These 3 sites had fares in the $ 600 range for direct flights one way. The sites are Indian Eagle or IEagle.com, Eros travel and tours, and Cheap Fare Guru. Not many reviews online and BBB doesn't have a lot but do have a few complaints. One ways are coming up over $3000 right now on other sites. Two years ago we booked with Cheapoair and it worked out for less than $600 one way direct. If anyone has any experiences let me know. Also once booked and confirmed with British airways not sure the down side. Thanks
Gunner22aa Posted November 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2013 Same as Cheapo Air. You can get some fantastic prices if you are willing to gamble. If everything goes well you are a winner. If one little thing goes wrong you are bust. These fare rates typically have a list of restrictions on them that rivals War and Peace in length. Non transferable, almost certainly non endorsable to another carrier, non refundable under almost any circumstance and the list goes on. Bottom line with any of these is if you check out the reviews on them there will be far more horror stories than people singing their virtues. "You pays your money and you takes your chances." Personally I stear well clear of these agencies.
CruiserBruce Posted November 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2013 You might want to read the MANY threads here about consolidator airfares before you use any of these.
iancal Posted November 27, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2013 We used Cheapo air last Nov. to get one way fares from Toronto-Rome last fall on BA last fall. We were aware of the restrictions but BA has lots of flights on this run. Cheapo had the best price that we could find-$560. We know the risks of a consolidator ticket. Sometimes we are will to take that risk, other times not. It also very much depends on the routing for us, ie one carrier all the way, as well as how many alternate flights the particular carrier has on that route(s). thinfool Posted November 27, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2013 Air Berlin is showing $707. one-way, MIA-BCN in October 2014, all taxes, etc included. You need to be looking here http://matrix.itasoftware.com You cannot book flights on this site, but it will give you a much broader view of what is available when you are ready to book. Rare FlyerTalker Posted November 28, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 28, 2013 You get what you pay for. Caveat Emptor. But then, when price is your only god, then there is no other consideration.
alexandra cruiser Posted November 28, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 28, 2013 I didnt and used Cheapoair, yes flights less expensive, but one flight wasn t even booked. And had Checked before on that site, but NOT with the airline. What a mess. Now use matrix and book with airlines directly, you may pay a little more, but at least you HAVE a flight.:)
