MsTabbyKats Posted November 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2013 I can't read it. Can you summarize?
Doug S Posted November 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2013 I can't read it. Can you summarize? Hard to read. Looks like a letter announcing that weather caused them to skip Half Moon Cay. No other ports were available, so they added a sea day and proceeded to their regular Nassau stop.

JohnSpo Posted November 30, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2013 Missing HMC is a real bummer. I was just on Ecstasy. We stopped in HMC on Thurs Nov 21. The weather was perfect. I think I was in the water for 4 hours. I just couldn't get out. The sand is powdery and cool to the feet even though it was about 85 degrees. Carnival had a nice BBQ lunch for us. After my fun in the water I enjoyed hanging out and relaxing in the hammocks before heading back to the ship. I look forward to a future visit to HMC. Sorry to hear about missing HMC.:( I hope you get there soon on a future cruise.

matondo Posted November 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2013 Sorry you missed the most wonderful private island EVER!! Sounds like you need to book another cruise ASAP and see if you can make it the next go round!! I was there earlier this month on the Ecstasy and it was wonderful as usual. MsTabbyKats Posted November 30, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 30, 2013 Sorry to hear this......and I can understand your disappointment. I booked a cruise specifically for that island. That's the gamble with cruising......
Rare Essiesmom Posted November 30, 2013 #11 Share Posted November 30, 2013 Not just HMC...We missed Great Stirrup Cay on the MSC Divina 3 day inaugural, and the second cruise also missed it. EM
martinchem Posted November 30, 2013 #12 Share Posted November 30, 2013 We are 50/50 with Half Moon Cay, yet with NCL we have been 100% with Great StirUp Cay, go figure.
golfadj Posted November 30, 2013 #13 Share Posted November 30, 2013 It happens what can you do. Enjoy the rest of your cruise. Wish these things happened more with Nassau and less with HMC though.

Suspicious_Package Posted November 30, 2013 Author #16 Share Posted November 30, 2013 Yeah, the kids understood and were cool with it. However, standing on the balcony watching the island slip by still stinks :)
kona_wahine Posted November 30, 2013 #17 Share Posted November 30, 2013 I have 50 days of nightly prayers before we arrive at HMC. I sure hope we don't miss it. This was the reason we booked this cruise.
Cruisin 4 Ever Posted November 30, 2013 #18 Share Posted November 30, 2013 I have 50 days of nightly prayers before we arrive at HMC. I sure hope we don't miss it. This was the reason we booked this cruise. We are on the same cruise with you and are joining you in the nightly prayers. LOL Booked a very similar agenda last year and missed HMC so we are hoping for better luck this year.
Colorado Kat Posted November 30, 2013 #19 Share Posted November 30, 2013 I'm sorry that you missed Half Moon Cay. Very nice spot. Lovely beach.
ThreeYellowLabs Posted December 1, 2013 #20 Share Posted December 1, 2013 We just got off the Fascination today and also missed Half Moon Cay and we were very disappointed. Fortunately they were able to get us to Freeport but since I hadn't done any research beforehand on this port we had no idea what to do. Ended up spending a lot of money to get a taxi ride to a beach about 20 minutes away. :(
The4Cruisers Posted December 1, 2013 #21 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Oh, I would HATE to miss the stop at HMC. I put up with Nassau (and sometimes Freeport) just to take a cruise that goes to HMC. Hope the rest of your cruise went well.
bbiggar Posted December 1, 2013 #22 Share Posted December 1, 2013 We missed this port once as well. We also missed other ports due to high wind conditions and tendering including Grand Cayman twice and Freeport as well. I hope you made the best out of the situation like we did. I know it's disappointing missing ports, but what to do if mother nature does this to you.
tandemcruzr Posted December 1, 2013 #23 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Fully understand. We are 0 for 2 at HMC. :(
