Cabin upgrade?

Has anyone ever had a room upgrade on a cruise ship? We were upgraded from a small interior cabin(150 sq. ft.) to a family ocean view cabin(272 sq. ft.) on OASIS OF THE SEAS. We have only cruise a couple times and were suprised that we were the ones that were upgraded.

We were upgraded on our first Alaska cruise from a partial oceanview room to a verandah. And many of our other cruises we got a little upgrade (same category better location).

Some of this varies by cruise line and by voyage.

 

I see often on many of the cruise line boards that people have gotten upgrades so while it doesn't happen all the time it does happen for some.

Congratulations! There is no rhyme or reason to the behavior of the upgrade fairy. Enjoy it. It may be your only upgrade ever.

Congratulations -- that is a wonderful upgrade.

Yes -- I have seen quite a few people on these boards get upgrades. It all depends on how well a cruise has been selling.

We got an upgrade on our NCL STAR cruise last December from an interior to an "obstructed" view picture window which really wasn't too obstructed and we could see the ocean. It was a happy day for us. :)
