rundent Posted January 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Couldn't remember if they provided a beach bag in the cabin. So I called O and the agent, after much research, told me she was sorry but the didn't. But I had a memory of having gotten such a bag on my one previous cruise [i think I remember one provided on all cruises - but not sure]. Didn't want to pack one if one was waiting for me. So when rummaging through a place where such things are kept, low and behold, there in said waiting place was an Oceania tote bag, and a nice sized zippered one too. So, do I heed what this phone representative said and pack the found bag or trust my memory and common sense and wait to get the one that we all know is in the cabin waiting for me? Rare LHT28 Posted January 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Not all cabin Cat get the tote bag So I guess you were in a Concierge or above last cruise
rundent Posted January 4, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Thanks, I was and this time I'm not, but I never told the agent who I was.
JimandStan Posted January 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Does anyone REALLY pack carefully enough that a tote bag more or less makes ANY difference at all? I'd have just tossed my socks into it :p
Paulchili Posted January 4, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2014 As Lyn said, it is usually Concierge and above that gets a tote bag. I would take the old one along - an empty tote bag laying on top of your clothes in the suitcase takes up next to no space and weighs very little. JMO. rundent Posted January 4, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted January 4, 2014 You people obviously don't know my wife and her wardrobe! She gets all the stuff out that she wants to take [for me too] and then it's a winnowing job.
Rare RachelG Posted January 4, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 4, 2014 I was landing on taking a tote bag for the beach, but we are in concierge. Does that mean that I don't need to? Any extra room when packing is good.

CarefreeInAZ Posted January 5, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 5, 2014 To Rundent I see you started your cruise yesterday (Jan 4th). We have booked the Miami 10 day Miami Jan 4, 2015, Riviera. Are there many children on your cruise? We hope they have finished their holiday and back in school.
Wendy The Wanderer Posted January 5, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 5, 2014 I guess there are folks who collect many of these bags. We got one in our PH last month; never used it on the cruise, now using it to store my grocery bags.
