B2B question, is this possible?

Recommended Posts

My husband and I are going on B2B in December. Our kids are joining us for the second leg. How early can we disembark to meet them at their hotel and get them back to the port? We are on IOS out of Ft Lauderdale.. Thanks for any information that you can give me..

If you have your new SeaPass cards, you can disembark with the self-assist guests. I would discuss your plans with Guest Services so they make sure to get you your new SeaPass cards the night before if possible, and are not waiting for you to disembark with the other B2B guests.

Note that you will not be able to re-board until boarding has started for the second cruise.

Our experience has been limited to one b2b out of Harwich England but here's what we did and how things were processed on the Brilliance. A couple days before the first leg of our b2b was over, the customer services folks met with the passengers staying on to go over the transition. Essentially, the night before the first leg was over, we were able to close our account for that portion of our cruise, pick up our new sea pass which covers the second leg of our cruise, and two paper wristbands were issued to us. The morning all the other passengers were disembarking, we put on the paper wristbands and that told the crew we were staying on for the next cruise and we were not hustled or asked to vacate. (We were in the same cabin both cruises which made things somewhat easier too.). They even had a special breakfast set up in a restaurant for the passengers staying on. With our new sea passes, we just disembarked and went into town. When we came back to the terminal, we just bypassed the check in lines, showed folks our wristbands and correct sea passes and could go right onto the ship. It worked very seamless. So my experience says just so you have the correct sea pass with the inclusive dates of your second cruise and the wristband, you should be able to leave the ship and reboard without any problems. Again, this is based on our limited experience. I hope it helps.

Yes, most definitely. As other said you get your pass the night before and either a wrist band or an "express pass".

Get up when you feel like it and wander off when you feel like it (unless it is a port where Customs wants everyone to march off and back on together --They will tell you the few nights before). Then go meet the family.

When you get back they will have to go through check in. You will use your express pass and go straight through to the ship.

Have a great trip.

...just completed a B2B on the Indy a couple of weeks ago...sigh.

We had approximately 120 passengers doing the B2B. We all met at the Pyramid Lounge and were the last passengers escorted off the ship (It was past 10am) and into a "waiting area".

Our new cards/seapasses were distributed and were then escorted through Customs/Immigration. (We were the last to disembark and the first to embark/board the ship. It was nice to walk around an empty ship and have access to our cabin.) A special lunch at the MDR was provided for all B2B passengers.

We don't know if anyone requested or received their seapass the night before. You are, however, allowed to disembark along with the other passengers if you wish. You can "self-disembark" since you'll be without luggages and be one of the first off the ship...or disembark at your leisure. When you return with your children, you'll simply check-in with them and get your new seapass.

Just curious...why not just wait for your children at the port? With your plan, you'll have to take a taxi to their hotel, take another taxi back to the port, then get in line again just to board the ship? Happy Sailing. :)

We have been on many B2B's on many different ships. It seems to be never the same twice.

I would strongly suggest talking with GS at least 2 days before to see what procedure they have and want you to follow on that ship.

The for sure thing is you will be able to disembark with those doing their own carry off. The rest of the procedures you need to ask about.

I agree with this advice 100% as each RCI ship seems to to do whatever it wants to do.

We have four children, baby grandchild, elderly parents, and thought it might be easier to get everyone together and assist them with boarding as most haven't done it on own. Young children, and also figured we would drop off our alcohol at lodging.. Sounded like a good idea. What does everyone else think? I'll take ideas that would be easier for everyone... Thanks!!
