Looking for help with game for Allure of the Seas

I'm going to be sailing with some friends on Allure of the Seas in October. As part of a fun activity for them, when I was on Allure in August, I took a bunch of pictures with the goal to make a kind of scavenger hunt where the goal is to find out what the pictures are and where they were taken onboard.

Like I said, I took a bunch of pictures and as a game, it's a bit long. Plus, I'm concerned that some of the images may be too challenging. So, I'm looking for help from people who are going to be sailing on Allure of the Seas (or perhaps who have already sailed and might want to see whether they recognize the pictures).

I've put the pictures into a downloadable and printable PDF here: http://www.bluevine.net/Allure-Scavenger-Hunt.pdf

Feel free to take a look at this and give it a try. I'd really appreciate the feedback! I've included my e-mail address in the PDF so you can let me know directly what you think.

After I'm finished tweaking the file, I'll put the final result up for people to download, as well as a corresponding answer PDF.

Thank you all very much!

Hi Marc,

I was on Allure a year ago and I'm going next week. I was thinking of printing out your list and seeing if I can go find them. I'm pretty sure, just from being there one time, I could find most of them now. From the quick look I don't think it's too difficult. I'll try to remember to print it out before we leave and see if we can find everything!!

One thing on the Allure that is worth looking for on a scavenger hunt is the "Small Wonders" dioramas. They are located through the ship, and would be a cool thing to have people search for.

I always rave about the interactive dioramas on Mariner...Jason and the Argonauts...nobody seems to ever know what I'm talking about so I guess most people miss them...which is strange because they are right off the centrum.

Hope people really nose around to find your stuff, we'll be hunting for them in May Daghis. Should be fun!! Thanks for taking the time to do this:p

For some reason I can't download the PDF to my documents folder for Allure, but I saved the link.

I study a ship for months before we cruise and thanks to all the photos and videos out there, I can already identify most of the pics you chose!! Make em harder Daghis!!!! But some of them I will have to find in May...This should be a hoot!:D

I'll be on my first Allure cruise (and first Oasis class) in 2 weeks. I took a look and based off the pictures I have seen on CC reviews, etc. I think I have pre-located all but 15 of the pictures. The other 15, I'm not sure about or have no clue! I'm not sure if that means I am too obsessed or not! :o I'll print it out for myself and my family and we'll see how many we find! Fortunately, they have not looked at any pictures of the inside of Allure. Heck, I'm not sure my dad even knows what ship we are sailing on!

I love the idea, btw. Thanks!

Actually, if I remember correctly, they have an onboard scavenger hunt activity scheduled just for the "Small Wonders". Someone I met during my last cruise was busy hunting them all down. It's definitely a cool thing to do.

I did include one "Small Wonder" among the pictures I included, but I wanted most of the pictures to have sufficient context to be able to be recognized.

I remember seeing that challange on my first Oasis cruise, in their inaugural year. We were handed cards during an art tour and told to submit them by the last full day with our final count. The winner won some sort of art piece.

I haven't seen it since, though.

I've been on Allure once, and going again in three weeks. Your pdf is downloaded to my computer, now if I only remember:rolleyes: I agree with Cruzin' Rob, that it doesn't look that hard - but things often look easy until you actually try to do them!

I just checked the Cruise Compasses I had from my Allure cruise in August. On day 4, they had the "Small Wonders Scavenger Hunt" in On Air. I guess they've continued this as an activity (separate from the art auction).

After seeing the comments and thinking about it some more, I probably did make most of these too easy, but that's okay. It can still be fun to try and go through them.

I don't think it's too easy! For the obsessive over planner who has looked at every picture of Allure, there are many I don't know :)

For the non CC obsessive member, they won't have a clue. :D

I'm excited to see how my dad/his wife/my boyfriend do with this scavenger. I might throw in a few drinks as a prize!

Ok, here's how I did...recognized most of them except:

5, 13, 16, 18, 23, 26, ( though I have a guess for that one) 27, 33, 34, 41, 45 and I whiffed on 48 through 52:eek:

I think the easiest ones are the letters or parts of signs. especially the restaurant ones and the BW characters and items ( they are so distinctive) I think the hardest ones are the details of art work, especially those that need you to look up!;) There are some that may have been easy for me, based on being an experienced Royal cruiser that might be harder for a newbie- such as the Vitality Spa symbol ...and I bet the " Coffee" one is easiest for everyone! Probably that brand is almost as recognizable as McDonalds, or Coke;)

Have fun...and if you need a few extra key chains as prizes let me know:rolleyes:;)

If you do want to know the answers to any you didn't recognize, e-mail me and I'll gladly tell you.

It looks like you were able to get about ⅔ of the images. That's a respectable amount.

And you were right that I did tend to choose parts of signs. I figured that they would be more often recognizable and they were chosen for being pretty easy.

Thanks for the offer of key chains. I've got a few myself! It got to the point that when I'd take the free spins in the casino, I'd hope for losing spins rather than more key chains! :D

This is a really cool idea. What you should do is have a mandatory # of DoD's prior to embarking on the quest. And teams. Definitely teams. Randomly assigned teams. That end up with me & Skittles on the same team.

Just sayin'.

Oh, and in case we haven't told you often enough, you're awesome. :)

For those who have sailed on Allure of the Seas before and want to check their answers, I just put together an answer sheet for this scavenger hunt. It includes the locations for each of the photos and a zoomed-out photo for each answer showing the quiz photo's context.

You can find the answers here.

Thank you for posting the answers! It's been almost 3 years since we were on Allure, so I got 34 of the 50 correct. Not too bad, I don't think. Not enough to win a highlighter, though!

It was a fun way to spend some time on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
