cruisentn Posted January 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2014 This maybe not politically correct to ask here, but someone told me that on a recent Disney Cruise, they just let them on through to the ship with a pocket knife in his pocket. ?? That's ok??
dacruiser12 Posted January 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Why not PC? To whom are you referring?
cruisentn Posted January 10, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Why not PC? To whom are you referring? LOL, nobody in specific. Some may not think it good to carry on a pocket knife. Thanks
Gunner22aa Posted January 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Always cruise with one or the other or both. They go onboard in my checked baggage though. I certainly don't see any danger. If someone wanted to do something there are lots of steak knives to be had.
dacruiser12 Posted January 10, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Oh I see, :) . I recently went on with my needlepoint scissors & needles, no prob. My son had his Swiss Army knife. The airline was ok with that stuff also.
clackey Posted January 10, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2014 I always travel with a small pocket knife. It goes into my checked luggage on both the plane and the ship. I do not take it off the ship when in the ports of call.
Rare mom says Posted January 10, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Either DH or I (or both) will always have our Swiss Army knife in our checked luggage. Like a PP, we would never take it off the ship when in port.
ducklite Posted January 10, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 10, 2014 As long as the blade is under a certain length (3" I want to think) it is allowed. Autocorrect responsible for most typos...
CaroleSS Posted January 10, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) from Disney's website "What is your policy concerning firearms? Answer: We have a Zero Weapons Policy. Firearms (including ammunition, knives—including dive knives—swords, daggers or any other types of weapons) are not allowed onboard under any circumstances. If a Guest has any of these or similar items in their baggage or on their person, they will be required to surrender the item(s) to port security until their return to port." You might want to call and ask them what an acceptable blade length is. Edited January 10, 2014 by CaroleSS
TheOldBear Posted January 10, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 10, 2014 I had a small knife [my backup sailing knife; about 1 and quarter inch blade] sent to the naughty room because the blade locked. I had no trouble with a swiss army knife - longer blade, but non locking [carried mostly for the corkscrew ;) ]
donaldsc Posted January 10, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 10, 2014 LOL, nobody in specific. Some may not think it good to carry on a pocket knife. Thanks I always carry a small pocket knife. However, I do put it in my checked bag. I lost a good one once because I forgot that it was in my pocket when I went through airport security. dsrdsrdsr Posted January 10, 2014 #12 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Unless they're going to use plastic knives and forks in the dining rooms, there'd be no point restricting penknives.
