packedandready Posted January 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) I don't fly often........Does Southwest have a policy that allows a refund if your flight prices drop? Booked the "wanna get away" fare. I doubt they do, but never hurts to ask. Edited January 10, 2014 by packedandready
klfrodo Posted January 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Most airlines do. I believe SWA policy is that they will issue a credit to be banked for a future flight. Can only be used by the ticketed person, and must be used withing a future timeframe from when original ticket was purchased.. If my information is incorrect, I am sure someone will come along and provide the correct information.
CruiserBruce Posted January 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Maybe some research on the Cruise Air board would be helpful.

Rare Hlitner Posted January 11, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2014 SWA has the most consumer-oriented policies when it comes to repricing, cancelling, etc. If you book a SWA flight and the price later books you can always rebook (as many times as you please) at the new lower fares. SWA will then give you the fare savings in the form of a credit good towards any SWA bookings for the next 12 months. Although it is not as good as a refund (not aware of anyone giving refunds) SWA at least offers the credit and has no penalties. Hank
dread_pirate Posted January 12, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2014 Remember that the credit is valid for 12 months from the time you bought the ticket, not from the date of the cancellation. But I'll take it (and I love the no-change-fees!).
misty57 Posted January 13, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 13, 2014 We always book SW when we can. I don't even look elsewhere. They are the easiest airline to work with.
subtchr Posted January 13, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 13, 2014 Most airlines do. Actually, SWA is the only airline I am aware of that does, unless of course you book a refundable ticket, which is MUCH more expensive. Most airlines will, but first you have to pay the change fee (right now I am seeing about $200 for a domestic ticket for many fare classes on UA), but it would have to be a BIG decrease to make this worthwhile, of course.
