Oasis Photo Review – All Dining and Drinks Menus - Daily Programs

Recommended Posts

Hi jaydc2,

Nice to hear you actually read my review, and didn't just look at the photos... :)

As regards the extra miscellaneous bit and pieces, I will be happy to do this if it is of genuine interest. So far, there are only about 7 or 8 folk interested. So I'd hope for another dozen or so to indicate some worthwhile level of interest.

Regards

My wife and I haven't sailed RC in several years, but they used to have plastic stemware for the weather decks and glass for the interior areas. Do they offer the souvenir glass in both or just plastic now? (We have several keepsakes to remember our trips)

Thanks Megacruiser. I was following and caught up right when you were tying things up. I appreciate all the time you put into this review. It greatly helps an obsessed planner such as myself.

So glad it has helped. Thanks so much for your feedback.

Hello ihartcruising,

Thanks for the feedback. Not much else to post except photos missed along the way and a summary.

Cheers

They still have glass souvenir glasses. They come around at dinner with the shot glasses, each night a different color.

I have been a member of Cruise Critic since 2006 - My favorite thing to read are the reviews (w/pics). I have read yours 3 times. The first time I looked at the photos; the 2nd time I looked at the photos and read your review; the 3rd time I looked at the photos, read your review and read the comments made by other people. I leave on this ship to these same locations on May 10th (in 54 days) - I am sure I will have plenty of time to read this review another couple of times before I go.

May I say this is the best review and photos that I have read/seen since joining Cruise Critic...thank you for the excellent review.

Cindy

Sunset is an appropriate point to break as the midnight hour has long since past. Sorry but Day 5 Evening, including Chops and the 70’s Disco Inferno Street Party, will follow tomorrow…

My usual appeal as I sign off, please do let me know if you are following this review. Just the word “Following” is all I need.

Much appreciated.

Not sure if this is needed at this point, but...Following...(though back on page 16)...Awesome review...!

Awesome review. We've never been on an RCCL ship, mostly HAL. Looking forward to this cruise and your review is most appreciated. It will save us considerable time getting around.

What more can I say than 'wow?!'

We are going on the Oasis' first transatlantic voyage on the 1st of September. I'm pretty new to this cruising malarky and if I wasn't excited before I certainly am now. Your review has kept me wonderfully entertained on my night shift tonight and I cannot wait to get on there.

My only complaint is that all the 'food porn' you have posted has had me drooling and it's been such a tease since I'm currently dieting for the trip haha! My stomach will devour all that scrumtious food.

Thank you so much for this brilliant review. You've clearly taken a lot of time and attention with it and it is very much appreciated. I will probably read it again before we go :)

Headed up to the “Secret Balcony” on Deck 11 aft starboard, as I wanted to see what I had read about. About twenty or so deck chairs are up there. Good spot for sailaways.

Great views down to the Aquatheatre…

And as the sun starts to go down the rock climbing walls are brightly illuminated. Top right is one of the control rooms needed for the various shows.

Serenade of the Seas departed before us and made a turn turn right in front of us just as the sun was setting.

How do you get to the "secret" balcony? Do you just walk down the end of the aft corridor and open a door? can you go there anytime or will you get in trouble? Thanks!!

It took me whole week (sailed on March 15-22 on Oasis) to convince my husband that there is a publicly open balcony at deck 11 aft. He told me that as it is not clearly marked at the elevator lobby - the way aft 14 sun deck is marked - it is not supposed to be entered. I kept on talking, almost nagging, until on the final sea day he gave up, and on we went all the way back to find the perfect spot for sailaways - which were all behind us.

Well, next time we know better. :)

So do you just go aft to the end of the corridor and "open a door" or will there then be signs telling you where you are about to be? Is the balcony on both sides of the ship or just one? Just want to make sure I can find it. Thanks so much!!

There is a vast central whirlpool that would accommodate, at a guess, in excess of 30 people.

In addition there are another two very large whirlpools, by normal standards, within the Solarium.

I will be traveling on the Oasis in late August and lbipooh suggested I take a look at this review. I'm glad she did. It was very informative with great pictures. I had sailed on the Allure in 2012 and this reminded me of the good times I had on that cruise, but also showed me that I had missed a lot of things to see on this megaship.

I would like to make a couple of comments about the solarium. First traveling in the summer, the solarium is very hot and I could not walk on the deck barefoot (like walking on hot pavement). Second the sign next to the primary pool listed a ridiculous capacity (from foggy memory 32+). It seemed very crowded with about 20 and all you could do was stand around. The other whirlpools were much more enjoyable.

Thanks for the great review. ~120,000 views shows how well it was received.

Absolutely loving your review!!! But it has me worried. I've only gotten through page 10 and I'm sitting here with my jaw dropped as I see the awesome pics and reviews you are posting. I am now certain that I will walk around the ship with my jaw dropped looking like a complete moron.

We just booked this cruise with our credit given to us after our not so great Adventure of the Seas cruise last week. So excited now to have this to look forward to next year! Can't wait to read through the rest of this thread but I must get back to work.

Thanks so much!!!
