Do you guys like Enchantment?

Recommended Posts

Oh, and we cruised Super Bowl Weekend, so finding a lounger by the pool an hour before game time was a bigger priority! :D

How loud is the screen and what do they show during the afternoon?

We just got off Enchantment and we loved it! Perfect ship for first time cruisers such as ourselves. I didn't notice any wear on her only because I was to busy being on vacation lol Surprisingly on the day at sea it never seemed crowded. Most of the chairs were taken at the pool and solarium but we didnt get out there till later. So I am sure it would have been fine if we had a plan. lol The cruise director is AMAZING!! He is great! He had us laughing the whole time.

The screen I dont think I ever heard cause there was always music outside. They mostly played like sports center when we were around. Which was like the last day at sea. On the other days I dont know. I know they had movie under the stars and you could watch Hunger Games catching fire a few times.

How much is coffee from the coffee bar? Are pastries free? Do they have frappechino type things? And where can you get a smoothie?

Yeah they have a pretty much a full starbucks. I think they were around 3 bucks for a coffee. I usually drink the Chai Tea Lattes and those were 3 something. Yeah they have the carmel fraps too. As far as a smoothie I dont remember if they had them. The pastries are included so when we didnt feel like fighting the windjammer we would get a muffin or something.

As you can see in my signature, I'm sailing on the Enchantment OTS in five months. Is this a nice ship? I understand that it is older (actually older than my first cruise, Carnival Paradise) but is it kept up well? How long are the waits for the rock climbing walls/trampolines? Also, how are crowds? We found the Paradise to be quite crowded? All in all, how is RCCL compared to CCL?

Thanks!

I have sailed EOTS twice, most recently in Feb and I am sailing again on her in May. I love the ship and the itinerary. It is well maintained and doesn't seem to be too crowded. I can't compare it to CCL since I have only sailed them once.

:)

How is disembarkation? Carnival was a mess. Is there a luggage carousel, or are they in groups, or in a big pile?

There are two luggage carousels at the termnal in Port Canaveral.

Disembarkation was smooth as it always has been for me in PC. They use luggage carousels and call you off the ship in groups.

I'll echo what others have said - the stretch really did overload some public spaces on Enchantment, mainly the theatre and Windjammer. Having sailed on one of her non-stretched sisters as well (Grandeur) there was a BIG difference in crowding. The extra pool deck and few extra public spaces was not worth it IMHO and I wouldn't personally rush to ever sail her again - there's a reason that RCI cancelled the stretch on her sisters.

That aside, she was beautiful - in a remarkable state of repair and not showing her age at all. You'll love her so long as you can see past the crowding in some areas.

Do they have comedy shows every night like Carnival? Also, what are the production shows like? I want to see a rendition of Cell Block Tango!!! It is a awesome song.

No comedy show every night. There will usually be one night with a comedian, and they may do an additional late night adult performance.

Are all of the shows done in the main theater?

Haven't been on rc in many years. Can you eat breakfast and lunch in the MDR?

Breakfast in the MDR everyday, and lunch usually only on sea days. However, if I remember correctly, Enchantment has lunch in the MDR (with no lunch in Windjammer) when visiting Coco Cay.

Since we booked two rooms, can we get both of the rooms one all of our SeaPasses?

I don't believe that they can make your SeaPass card open more than one room. However, you can ask Guest Services for an extra key to the other room.

How is the quality of the production shows, i.e. Vegas vs. Broadway.

The first night will be the welcome aboard show, which will include a short entertainment act (comedy, musician, etc). The next night was a magician act and the third night (we just did the 3 day) was a broadway style, Stage to Screen, using songs from musicals that had also been made into movies (Chicago, Little House of Horrors, West Side Story, etc).

The late night comedy show was the only show not held in the theater. It was in the Spotlight Lounge (where they also have karaoke).

For late evening entertainment, there is the 70's disco inferno on night around 10:30 and there is a poolside dance party/buffet one night around 11:00. One night there will be the Love and Marriage game show in the theater. It is hilarious. Also, if you don't know about Quest yet, you should go. You sound like the type of person who would enjoy it. On our cruise it followed the late night comedy in the lounge. That's all I can say about that. You just need to go.

I really don't understand all the complaints about adding cabins but not public space. Oasis bar and extra pool, Bolero's, etc. never felt as crowded as Allure did last summer. They escort you to a table in Windjammer, seemed odd, but I guess it works. did not go to any shows other than late night comedy and it was not crowded. plenty of seats in the casino.
