Coco Cay (map) quiet, shaded area?

Looking for a quiet, shaded area to lay on a lounge chair at Coco Cay. Able bodied, so walking is not an issue. Also, if anyone can point out where lunch is served that would be helpful. What is at the Barefoot Beach? No Cabana suggestions please; not interested.

edit: posted different, smaller map

Barefoot Beach would probably be the beach you seek. It is the more remote and quiet location. When we were there last we ate at the Cabana area (next to 10) as we had one and lunch was included there. I am sure there are other dining areas but maybe someone else can confirm location. (maybe 8 & 16?)

If you want to be away from the crowds walk along the waterline past Barefoot Beach .ypu will find many areas where there are plenty of shade and no people.

Whenever DW and have bee on Coco Cay we always love walking the shoreline as far as posible almost to the tip of the island

We were there in Feb only 1 ship in port. There were other people at barefoot beach not a lot but a few. We found a few loungers in the shade between 26 and 27 on your map. No one around there were no kids on the aqua park that day but there weren't very many kids on our sailing only 19 between 12-17 and three were ours. That area was deserted lots of shade and lots of empty loungers. Enjoy your trip.

We were recently there with Majesty? *brain fart* Anyway, there were two ships and the immediate beach area was incredibly crowded. As stated, just keep walking (since you are able-bodied and this won't be a problem) to the right... walk as far as you want and you will see unoccupied loungers there for you. I have a feeling that many people just park it pretty much right in front of everything... by walking a few extra minutes it is much nicer and quieter.

Oh! Bring your water shoes! Oh my goodness, there are some rather slimy weeds in the water that my DH and I felt were pretty yukky. We were so glad to have brought our water shoes. :)

Take your camera out into the water and you will get all kinds of pictures of fish; we even got a picture of a sting ray! The water is very shallow, easy to walk out and take pictures.

Have fun. This was a nice beach day, very relaxing. :)

Thanks everyone. Seems like there is plenty of free lounge space in the shade. Good tip on the water shoes. Our day there is 8am - 5pm. I anticipate aiming for a 10 - 11 am tender (sleep in a bit, have breakfast, avoid crowds), lunch on the island, and head back between 2 to 3, or is that madness rush hour to get back and I should plan for a later time?

Do the tenders pretty much run constantly and take off when filled? When is final tender and is there a PA announcement or posted time on the island?

Yes, constantly as people come and go all day, and they run full to in the morning, and from in the afternoon. The time of the last tender will be announced in the Compass (45 minutes prior to sail away, if I recall); you have to be on the pier prior to that, of course.

I always post near Coconut Willies Beach near the basketball courts. There is a nice little shaded area behind the rows of loungers. There is a hammock there as well. I mean that place is like heaven to me. Not too far from the lunch area but far enough way. You can barely hear the live music when it starts up.

Great shade though.
