FreestyleNovice Posted September 30, 2014 Author #305 Share Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) Slightly updated deckplans on the Escape sub site that go with the announced venues. http://escape.ncl.com/assets/Uploads/Escape-Deck-Plans.pdf A first thing; Bliss is replaced/or moved elsewhere by the Skyline Bar. maestrotim Posted October 1, 2014 #308 Share Posted October 1, 2014 I must say I was a bit underwhelmed at today's released renderings. This looks like a sibling of GA/BA, with most features copied over. Granted it's early and like the press release stated there is more to come..., however I wished that this ship had more of it's own flair.

After seeing what Royal Caribbean did with the Quantum of the Seas, I was hoping NCL would follow suite and come up with some pioneering additions for their new ship. Not just a bigger retread of the Breakaway.

MasterSchnief Posted October 1, 2014 #311 Share Posted October 1, 2014 Agreed. But there are still some features yet to be announced, so let's hope.. :) It seems that NCL wants Escape and Bliss to be quite similar to Breakaway and Getaway. The third and fourth ship will be more exciting, as far as I know.

The third and fourth ship will be more exciting, as far as I know. If you look at the deck plans for Getaway, specifically Deck 8, the minisuites, it appears that cabins 8136/8736 might have lost some balcony space due to being at the beginning, and on an angle. On the Escape, it looks like the cabins were shifted foward, and that angle does affect the minisuite cabins, only the balcony cabins. Does that appear to be correct? They had plenty of time to fix the problems since BA.

JenLovesToTravel Posted October 1, 2014 #317 Share Posted October 1, 2014 I wonder if they are going to fix the problems with the small balconies. I've been on the Getaway twice this year and had no issues with the smaller balcony. The ship is amazing and the space on the balcony was plenty for the time I was out there. I'd much rather have a larger bed, room and bathroom, which I did in my mini suites!
FreestyleNovice Posted October 1, 2014 Author #318 Share Posted October 1, 2014 Just wondering, how can the Skyline Bar have a view outside if the lifeboats are on that deck (one deck below the Waterfront) and approximate location is just aft of the funnel. The Getaway was simply jaw-dropping and beautiful, and I had enough space to do what I needed to do on my balcony. That said regarding balconies, all cruise lines are shrinking balconies in lieu of more space in public areas and addition of cabins. It's all about getting you OUT of your cabin, into the action, and whipping out the cruise card. They're in the business of making money, and I fall for it every single time. Cheerfully, I might add. :D

I doubt it very much. It is taking over the space that was Bliss on BA and GA that have no windows. From the Press Release: The new Skyline Bar, located within the casino, is an elegant and sophisticated lounge highlighted by brushed gold and metallic finishes. The lounge will also feature entertainment, a bar with video poker and multiple walls lined with ultra, high definition LED screens that can create an array of scenes to transform the mood of the space. Lifted directly from the DCL playbook. Kind of shocking to say the least. Edit: I'm no lawyer, but I would think Disney would have grounds for this? Again, I'm no lawyer and not trying to stir anything up, but HUH????????
