barnacle_boy Posted October 19, 2015 #4826 Share Posted October 19, 2015 And there are still rafts, on top of that...no? Yes, there's capacity for an additional 3,000+ with the rafts. The MES (marine evacuation system) Freestyle mentioned is composed of four 158 person rafts with an evacuation chute. There are two onboard, one on both sides of the vessel. Each system is also supplemented by additional rafts. The requirement per SOLAS is that there must be sufficient lifeboats/rafts of such capacity as to accommodate 125% of the total number of people on board. buckeye rob Posted October 19, 2015 #4827 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Looked, but couldn't find anything concerning internet for Escape. When on Oasis after refit they had installed the O3b network. It worked terrific. Does Norwegian have anything comparable to this ? I assume Escape will have state of the art internet/wifi. Thanks Gerry

Rare steamboats Posted October 19, 2015 #4829 Share Posted October 19, 2015 The escape sunk a tug? It didn´t sink. But it was sort of sucked into the river and popped up again. So basically it was only overflown by brown river water. steamboats
kikki21 Posted October 19, 2015 #4830 Share Posted October 19, 2015 I will be doing a review on Cruise Critic after I come back on the Escape 3 night cruise from Hamburg with photos & will be posting photos on my Instagram account of my entire trip. I tend to use my business Instagram page as even though I have a personal Instagram page - it's a pain to log in & out of them! :)

Jenjer Posted October 19, 2015 #4833 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Looks like at least 5 ft. Normally the ladder rungs are about a foot apart Yeah!!! That's what it looked like to me. Pool looks longer than I expected but very narrow...might just be the lens or angel. Not bringing a water polo ball. Just a small ball. We tread water and pass the ball back and forth. Makes you tread with just your legs and you look less crazy with holding your arms over your head. Water polo balls are very hard and would be dangerous in a enclosed space. Trust me she could break a lot of stuff if DH or I missed a pass.
FreestyleNovice Posted October 19, 2015 Author #4834 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Thanks for the link Tracy, that was probably the party from a previous posted pic! Thank you, I really wanted to see what a inside room looked like. Very nice :) Not wanting to disappoint you but the cabin showed in the vid was most likely a balcony cabin. Normal insides don't have the bed sideways (there may be a few special categories that do?). Nor a couch. Also it seems NCL is sticking to blue accents on the balcony/oceanviews and perhaps red on the insides? It does seem that the stateroom interiors for the majority of the categories are identical to Breakaway and Getaway, going by the few images we have seen and the renders. Google Image some BA/GA insides to get a good general idea of an Escape inside. This is an estimated guess but I am quite sure.. :)

FreestyleNovice Posted October 19, 2015 Author #4837 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Paint art added, outdoor public space deck 19 fwd. Anyone else noticed they've painted the roof of the two story pool bar? Looks much better in the new blue wave pattern. :)

Heheh, you even get to slide into the raft! :D It has the potential to be extremely dangerous, especially the nearly vertical drop through the chute. Without careful coordination, people could easily start to come down on one another and break their necks. That's why training and drills are absolutely critical. The lifeboats are no picnic either. The way they can fit so many people into such a small boat is that they are literally stacked on top of one another.
Rare steamboats Posted October 19, 2015 #4841 Share Posted October 19, 2015 This video was posted on another site this morning. It's the Meyer-Werft Farewell Party on Escape: Tracy Just wanted to post a link to the German press release by Meyer Werft regarding the Farewell Party. Short, rough translation: "1,000 guests (determined by sort of a lotery, workers of Meyer Werft and all other companies involved into the construction of the ship) were first invited into the theater for a movie about the construction of the Norwegian Escape. This was followed by a speech of Bernard Meyer and a short show (which you can see in the video - Million Dollar Quartet). The guests were invited to a dinner and partied the rest of the night (stayed overnight in the cabins). The party band Maritime Music consists of workers of the ship yard. It´s been the 25th farewell party with a total of 20,000 guests." steamboats

AtlantaCruiser72 Posted October 19, 2015 #4847 Share Posted October 19, 2015 I'm starting to think that maybe, just maybe, Headliners will be used as a late night dance club on Escape (in addition to being a comedy club) and that Howl at the Moon may use another venue (if indeed it is going to be onboard) such as the 5 O'clock somewhere bar/club. It will be interesting to see what they actually do.
