Clarea Posted April 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2014 How much was the wine tasting? They had a couple of different tastings during our cruise. I think they were around $20 per person. We shared a custom wine flight (you get to pick what you are tasting) which was about $35 for the two of us.
Vanilla Posted April 7, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Character Parade Ritas for a mexican fun party (dancing - dj - good food) Sitting at the Aqua theater and watching the water - also can see the performers practice. The flow rider is entertaining to watch (mostly watching wipe outs). You can watch sporting games (basketball court) from the WindJammer if you sit in the right areas. The Sports pool usually has afternoon group activities. Ice Carving / Veggie - Fruit Carving by the culinary staff. You will not be at a loss for things to do - you will be wondering how your gonna get it all in! So much to see with just a week to see it. CntPAcruiser Posted April 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Twice during the week there is a horticulturalist tour in Central Park. It was about an hour, and discussed the duties of the horticultural staff, explained how Central Park was created and how it is maintained, and showed off the various plants in the park. PhillyFinest27 Posted April 7, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted April 7, 2014 What's the prohibition party? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Gayle V Posted April 7, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) A Roaring Twenties themed party. People dress up (a little, or a lot) to match the theme. I think it's $35 per person. Do a google search and you'll see photos of people in costume. Feather boas, flapper style dresses and yards long stings of pearls, glittery head bands. Guys in black suits with black shirt and white tie, topped with a Al Capone style hat. Or if they don't have a suit coat, they guys wear suspenders and a garter on the arm of their long sleeve shirt, etc. Looked like fun. Clarea Posted April 7, 2014 #10 Share Posted April 7, 2014 What's the prohibition party? From Royal's website: At this party you'll step back in time to the days of the speakeasy and inconspicuous consumption. The Prohibition Event is a 1920's themed party featuring live jazz, dancing, handcrafted drinks from the period when alcohol was illegal, and a few surprises. On Oasis-class ships. Paulette3028 Posted April 9, 2014 #13 Share Posted April 9, 2014 We are cruising on Allure on the June 29,2014 Western Caribbean itinerary. We have been on ships with the Flowrider and look forward to doing that again and again. Also planning to Zipline -- hopefully over and over also. We are planning on staying on board one of the port days, since we have been to that particular spot before...figuring that we can get in more flowrider and ziplining on that day. Our shows are booked and we are looking forward to eating at Izumi. I love the 'food exhibits' -- how things are prepared -- so I will take those in all the time....and Karoake. The more Karoake the better.

cecelia0613 Posted April 9, 2014 #16 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Search and find the twenty small wonders hidden on the ship and look at the art inside them. Also check out all the art in the different stairways and throughout the ship. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
maureencruiser Posted April 9, 2014 #17 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Loved the Aquashow, saw it three times! Loved the party at Rita's. Quest was a blast as was the Battle of the Sexes. C'mon ladies, one of us has to know how to make a paper airplane that doesn't just land at our feet! :D
Chuggiebug Posted April 9, 2014 #18 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Rita's Fiesta party and the zipline. Some of the crafts are nice too.
Rare BillOh Posted April 9, 2014 #19 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I've also found the Q&A session with the Captain, CD, Hospitality Manager, and ships Engineer interesting. On the Eastern itinerary its held in the Aqua theater the final sea day.
erries Posted April 9, 2014 #20 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Live music at multiple venues in the evenings. One of our favorites is Bow & Stern, the English pub on the Promenade; another is the Viking Crown Lounge at the top of the ship. The former is great for people watching (grab a seat out in the Promenade) and usually has a guy playing guitar. The latter has awesome views of the front of the ship and the ocean and usually has some kind of jazz or easy listening music. There's also Latin dance music at Boleros, Jazz on 4, Blaze nightclub, piano at the Schooner Bar, and others -- I can virtually guarantee you'll find something you like. Hanging out and listening to live music is one of our favorite evening activities, especially if we're waiting around for a show or something. Sumisid Posted April 9, 2014 #21 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Country-nights at the Viking Crown Lounge - we had a great band named "The Girlz" Captain's Corner (usually on the last seaday, held at the theatre. Great question-answer-hour with the Captain, it was very funny and informative! All access tour! Expensive but worth every dollar! Slot tournaments at the Casino. Aqua-Theater show with the characters from Madagascar. Mojo-Clinic: Learn how to mix drinks at boleros. tbc. :D
