Taxi from Port to Airport

When you step off the ship, there will be a taxi stand immediately outside the terminal, with a long line of cabs from all sorts of companies. No need to have one standing by. We had an 11:25 flight Feb 28. Made it with tons of time to spare by just walking off the ship and jumping in the first available cab.

For an 1140 flight you need to be at FLL by 10:10 (earlier is better), which means in a cab and rolling from the port by about 9:55 -- unless you oversleep you should be fine with the first cab in line.

I would actually wait till the crowds get off the ship with earlier flights and plans. We take a flight around that time and don't leave the ship till after 9. The lines are shorter and all the panicky folks have already raced to the airports.:D Cabs are plentiful.

Yes, cabs are plentiful at Port Everglades; however, my last debark was actually not until 10:00 a.m. and still had to wait 15-20 minutes in the taxi line. Before that we waited approx. 45 minutes. All depends on how many ships are in port that day.

Also, the more ships in port, the more zoo-like the airport check-in and securities will be. Last time, even using Luggage Valet (meaning, no check-in w/the airline), took just over 1 hour to get from the front door through security.

To the OP, not trying to be a fear-monger, just check how busy the port will be that day and adjust your timing accordingly.

Have a great cruise.:)
