If I cancel cruise, what will I lose?

Something has come up with my husband's work and I might have to cancel our cruise! :eek:

 

I am just about over 100 days away and I've only put down the deposit. I am assuming final payment will be due soon...

 

Can I move our deposit to another cruise? Since I haven't paid it off yet, I'm guessing all I would lose is the $200 deposit if we just canceled altogether. (We booked on our last cruise, so deposit was only $200) I did buy insurance.

 

I won't call my TA until I know for sure, so just wondering what my options are.

As far as Royal is concerned, you can cancel for a full refund. You can also change your booking to another cruise, without losing any money. However, your travel agent may have cancel or change fees.

If it's not final payment yet, I thought you got 100% of your deposit back. Also, I know that in the past, I have been able to transfer a deposit from one cruise to another. Hope you don't have to cancel! :eek:

They will lose the OBC if they cancel the reservation though so best bet would be to move it to another cruise. Check with your TA for fees though since some do charge fees.

Be sure to use the word "transfer" to move this reservation to a different cruise which RCI will allow you to do. That way you will keep the same reservation number and the OBC you got for booking while on board a cruise. I have done this several times.
