frannie Posted April 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2014 We are booked on the Royal Princess for August 19th sailing Northern Europe out of Copenhagen > Just wondering if there is a chance princess will not sail into St Petersbourg Russia due to political issues that are happening . What are the thoughts .
chrysalis Posted April 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2014 I would guess that there is always a "chance". .....we have had a port cancelled because of "political unrest" in the past, and expect that those kinds of things will continue in the future. I agree as this has happened to me as well several times. The political "unrest" is in the Ukraine, a long way from St. Petersburg and not in Russia so it's always possible that Russia might block tourism in retaliation to sanctions. Unless there's unrest in Russia itself, I don't see that happening. Anything can happen though.
Feelin' Nauti' Posted April 30, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2014 The title of your thread "Princess Cruise in August" my eyes popped. I was hoping Princess brought back Caribbean sailings during that time.

Rare geoherb Posted May 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 1, 2014 You never know what's going to happen in the world. If going to St. Petersburg is one of your primary reasons for choosing this cruise, you'll have to weigh the risk of not going.
