Rebooking with new buy one get one 1/2 off deal

Recommended Posts

Our '14 cruise is outside the sale window :(, the sale would cost us more for our '15 trip, but our '16 B2B (21 nights) went down $1,075 :D. No problem making the change to an existing reservation and kept D+ discounts.

I received quotes yesterday for the Allure which included the BOGOHO discount plus C&A discount. My friend also received same quote. When she called back to book she was told you can't have the C&A discount with the BOGOHO sale. I tried to get thru last nigh but stayed on hold for an hour and a half and finally gave up. Any one else have this happen? Should I push the issue since I have a written quote?

If you are talking about the balcony discount, yes you should get that

Yes, you should push it. We have 2 cruises booked in 2015 that we booked prior to the sale. Called and they gave us BOGOHO sale price. We still kept our D+ balcony discount. Easy Peasy. Call back and get someone else.

Hi Miamia, I use a US travel agent so that I can access the US terms and conditions. The first time we cruised we booked through an Australian agent and were not able to access price drops and nor did they give us OBC. Since switching to a US agent I get both.

I will let you know how it works out but certainly my bookings are eligible for price drops.

I thought Royal was one of the companies that would not let US agents book on behalf of Aussie travellers? Has this changed or do some agents just do it anyway?

I just called to try to take advantage of the price drop, but was told no can do because the base rate I booked at was lower then current. My booking was $879pp, the web site showing $734pp. I can't figure this out :( What number did you call to make the change?

I am in the same situation. My TA explained that the price that is showing reflects the sale price already. Mine shows $382 (we are inside cheapies!!), which already takes into account the sale and is a bit higher than our $374 price, but if I keep clicking on the selections, it shows $999 for the cabin since the individual price has gone up to over $500.

Confusing, but that's the game they play. But there are still some mighty nice drops to be had.

The solo cabin in our party, on the other hand, should get $100 drop, and that was refused by the TA. I have to wait until Monday to try for the third time. The website is clear that she should be given this lower price.

No cancel & rebook for me. I didn't lose my OBC from my Next Cruise booking, and I was able to keep the same reservation number (this is probably why I got to keep the OBC). I went through the C&A desk.

I guess I got a pretty good deal when I booked my 03/15/15 Adventure of the Seas cruise on/around 03/15/14. My 2 for 1 savings netted me only $65.

I'm not sure it was worth the 1.5 on hold. Until DW pointed out that I could get about 10 more Drinks of the day!

Enjoy your savings everyone. And more than that, enjoy your cruise!

I called back this morning at 7:30 (no wait) and the agent fixed the problem with the C&A discount. He couldn't figure out at first why it didn't work and told me to call back in 15 minutes after that dept opened. When I called back it had already been fixed. So the agent my friend talked to yesterday didn't know what she was talking about. I got a D1 balcony for $1043 per person and a M inside for $732 per person.

I'm uncertain - I have never heard of such a prohibition. I was recommended this agent by someone from CC on our Oasis cruise and have used him ever since. He is great and easy to communicate with via email.

Happy to report that overnight he saved me $1500 on my Allure Western Med and $200 on Allure transatlantic. We have a radiance cruise booked also but got it at such a good rate originally that even with the sale there is no savings for us.

Happy with the $1700 back in my pocket! :)

We are booked through a TA and I was able to submit a request for the lower price directly with them and they were able to get us the lower price without having to re-book us. We have 4 (1 JS, 3 C1) cabins booked for the January 3, 2015 sailing on Oasis of the Seas, and with this sale going on we saved $1033.20 total across the 4 cabins.

OK thanks for that. My info was a bit out of date - I had read about such prohibitions on the websites of some US travel agents in the past but they don't seem to be there anymore!

Im from Ireland and booked through RCI UK. I did a dummy booking on line and it showed a saving of over e300. I rang RCI to see if I could get the reduced price but was told on two occasions that the cost would be more than my original booking why is this? Or does the reductions only apply to USA on cruises already booked? Is there anything I can do to get the new price?

I upgraded my cabin on the Liberty during the sale and received a pro rated diamond discount from the C&A rep. Using a grandfathered NC certificate, I had booked a 10 ni on the Grandeur before the sale and they lowered the price to reflect the sale without any change to my discount, however I added another cruise to make it B2B and the discount I was given for that was pro rated.

It appears that if you were already booked prior to the sale, you keep your full C&A discount, but if you book during the sale, your discount is pro rated.

Most often residents of the UK are not elligable for any kind of price drops due to specific rules for your country. The only exception would be if you used a US travel agent.

Olya1972-

We are going on the Grandeur out of Baltimore during President's week, but in 2016. We have 2 cabins; a panoramic ocean view (supposedly 220sq ft) and an aft JS. I called today and saved $1200 (well, $1190 to be precise) from my original booking. Hold time was quite long, but obviously well worth it. I thought about upgrading the JS to a GS for the same price, but opted for the savings instead.

So easy to do. I just said I wanted to take advantage of the price drop/sale, and boom, done. $1200 to donate to the casino.

Chris

Thank You for your response. I have booked two connecting balcony cabins using the BOGHO promo and C&A reduced rates and for 5 people the price is $816 per person before tax.
