Reciprocity fee for argentina

Need some guidance as to how to obtain the required reciprocity to enter Buenos Aires on line.. Does one first need to sign on with a name and password and complete this information ?:

I actually have no idea what this reciprocity document is but we entered Argentina a few months back via the Border at Iguazu and other than our passports nothing else was required. In fact our driver went to the desk while we remained in the car.

Not sure if this just applies to us Brits.

Yes, it is just for US Citizens, as payback for the fee we charge to Argentinians to enter the US. The fee is $160 per person, each person has to fill out the form, you pay with your credit card online. Within a day you will get an email from the site showing you have paid, you need to bring this email receipt and your ID to the proper desk when you enter Argentina, as proof you paid the fee.

Even though it is technically not a visa, it may be easier to think of it as a visa to enter Argentina.

It took forever to pay the fee (then $140 and good for 10 years) in person when we flew in to BA on 2011 on our way to Ushuaia.

Got one for our Antarctica trip last January. Very easy to do on line. I made a copy and it was shown to the immigration agent upon arrival.

You can no longer get the "visa" on arrival, it must be done ahead of time. This changed a few months ago and there have been stories of people being denied entry because they thought they could buy it on arrival.

And be sure to keep it as previously pointed out, it is good for ten years. I am hoping they get rid of it like Chile recently did. Of course that would take a change in what we charge their citizens.

If you are travelling with a Canadian, US or Australian passport you need to pay the fee in advance...not sure if this information is up to date & they have added other Countries to the list

here is the site and it is not the easiest process.

1) Do exactly as you did - establish the account - where it says "signup"

2) You only need to establish the one account. That account can be accessed in future if you every want to reprint your voucher. Note the payment is good for 10 years!!!!

 

3) After account is established. Log in

 

4) After logging in there is a small area which says -- If you need to create a new form CLICK HERE

 

5) Enter the data and then add

 

6) Do the same for each person

 

7) Pay using the credit card

 

8) They will send the entry/payment receipt to your email address

 

9) You can also log into your account anytime and also print these receipts

 

 

There are a number of non affiliated sites that do same but charge a fee like Visatoargentina (they do not tell you this until later)
