Hey All, Do you have to get off the ship after cruise number 1 when doing a B2B cruise?

Thanks!

If the turnaround day is in a US port, yes.

But, typically, you won't have to pack up and bring your bags with you. If you're staying in the same room, you just leave your "stuff" (except check in documents/ID for next cruise). If you're changing rooms, you'll have to pack up, but you (and/or your room steward) will deal with getting them to your next room.

You will receive instructions from Guest Services the day before returning from first cruise. Usually, there will be a small group who meets and is led off the ship to go through immigration, get your new sign and sail cards, and then return to the ship. It's a very easy process and they make it as stress free as possible.

Make sure you visit Guest Services, sometime during the first leg of your cruise, to verify that they have you on the B2B list. Our experience has been that they have you meet, sometime around 10:30-10:45 am, in the lobby, and they escort you off the ship. You show your passport to the immigration officers, then get right back on the ship. Takes just a few minutes.

I think it depends on WHICH U.S. port you are sailing from. We did a B2B on the Paradise out of Tampa and they DID NOT make us get off the ship. We just had to go to the customer service desk on board to pick up our new Sail & Sign cards.

It was cool but weird being the only ones on the ship for the hour or so between the last passengers off and the first passengers on. We walked around and took photos of the quiet venues, and there was a lot of quick cleaning and sprucing up happening on board.

We had the same cabin, so we didn't have to move our things, but our room steward wasn't actually aware that we were staying! We saw him on the morning of our second leg and told him we were staying on board... and he thought we were kidding. Once he realized we were serious, he said that our cabin would be serviced last, and it actually didn't get serviced at all until turn-down that evening. BUT, we did receive a complimentary bottle of champagne and some chocolate covered strawberries as a B2B gift before dinner on the first night of the second leg.

Did you he give a reason for servicing your cabin last/so late? Was it just because it wasn't a priority?

You should have to get off and at least walk down the gangway to "customs". For us it was literally walking to the end of the walkway and handing the customs officer our declaration form and then going right back to the ship. We got our new S&S cards and soon as we got back into the lobby.

We had this experience on our first b2b--our steward told us ahead of time, and the reason was simply it was a better use of his limited time. We were already in our cabin (we had access even when the doors were "shut"), so he could use the time to prepare someone else's. He got to ours before sail away and it wasn't a big deal.

We have done 3 B2Bs from 3 different U.S. ports. Each time we had to get off the ship and go through customs before returning to the ship. One time our new Sign and Sail cards were handed to us in the cruise terminal and we "dinged" back on board immediately. Another time we were seated in the cruise terminal and about 30 minutes later were escorted back on the ship where we were "dinged" back on board in the atrium with the crew handing us our new Sign and Sail cards at the "dinging" terminal. The last time we met at Guest Services at a certain time, immediately handed our new Sign and Sail cards, escorted off to Customs, and immediately escorted back on the ship "dinging" on in the cruise terminal. But, for all 3 sailings, we received a letter in our cabin the last night telling us exactly what we were to do.

BTW, I love B2Bs!!!:D

Yes, he just wanted to get the other cabins turned over first. It was fine with us as we had already showered that morning and weren't planning to hang out in the cabin.

We were intrigued with watching how the crew members scurried about in between sailings. We watched the last people disembark and then wandered around our own personal ship! I don't know what anomaly made it so that we didn't have to get off and get back on. We went back to the atrium to watch the first passengers board for the next sailing. It was cool to see the excitement of passengers as they boarded the ship.

In NOLA we got off, went thru CBP, checked in and escorted back onto the ship.

Even being stuck behind a few Eastern European crew at customs for a bit (visa issues?) we were back onboard within 30 minutes.

We changed cabins. Didn't even ask about seeing if our drawers could be switched or to leave the stuff on hangars. Just easier to pack everything up and tag the bags.

Bags were in the new cabin and unpacking too all of 5 minutes.

Any time we are B2B which is often, I put out our CRUISING SIGN & tell our steward not to touch our cabin until evening. I make the bed myself all week so don't really need anything.

They are so busy that mornin' we try to give them a five minute break. LOL.

That's exactly the way it was on our "turnaround" day in Port Canaveral.

Easy! :)

Also if you imbibe stop at the Fun Shops after 7PM on the last night of your first leg and buy a bottle or 2. They will let you take it back to your cabin and you will have it for your second leg. Don't mention to them that you are on a B2B. Have a great cruise.

o What is the procedure if you want to get off the ship after disembarkation has started so you can do some touring on your own? How do you get your new S&S card?

o Do you need to have any of the normal boarding documents for the second segment or does the ship not need them since you are a continuing passenger?

o Can your on-board account be carried over to the next segment of a b2b or must it be closed out to your credit card at the end of the first segment?

o If you purchased an internet package on the first segment, can unused minutes be carried over to the second segment or will they be lost?

Thanks

#3 & #4 are "no". They close out your account at the end of your 1st cruise.

The night before when you are given instructions for B2B, you will be given an "in transit" pass if you want to disembark & tour on your own. When you come back, I "think" you go to the head of the line to get new S & S cards, but I'm not sure. And, yes, bring your cruise docs for the 2nd leg.

When I am running home while we are in port they give me my S & S card the night before. Just get off with the very first guests & when I get back show them my in transit card & I'm back on.

Don't remember but am sure I had my passport & boarding pass.

The last two are NO & NO.

When I am doing a BTB or BTBTB,,,,,,,,I book the same cabin........

I make sure my Cabin Steward knows I'll be on the Ship

10-days or 14-days............Also on turn around I tell the Steward not to

bother with my cabin until that evening...............
