Just Off Voyager Not Happy At All

Recommended Posts

I am not happy with the way the ship was ran at all.

I have been on other Cruises and other RCCL Boats this place was a mess.

There were so many onboard issues that I dont know where to begin.

First the Underage drinking was Unbelievable. The Bartenders were serving liguor to minors many cruisers witnessed it. I was in the casino with children younger than my kids I made the casino host know it.

They dont clean up the tables so young kids go and get the drinks.

I was very upset with the whole boat in general.

Rumor had it that Girls were sexually assaulted

Feds were waiting for two minors at bayonne

The boat was held hours to get off.

There isnt one thing I can say about this cruise we are highly upset. They let underage kids in the vault no proof no seapass cards nothing.

Too much to write.

You have to watch some of these folks posting, this is her second time to post on the board. Didn't do much research before leaving home of someone from another cruise line stirying the pot. What do you think?

When you get the chance to calm down and collect your thoughts, I'd be interested in hearing more specifics.

I would love to hear more details of the horrible experience? I was on this ship along with her sisters, always had a good time and great staff.

But I would like to here more about your trip, did you call Royal to customer service to complain? Did you talk to the pursers desk on the ship?

Just wondering

After 12 cruises, I always find it interesting the way people pass the blame...RCCL always takes the hit. Most of these problems could be avoided if parents did a better job raising their children and being accountable for their kids actions and behavior...My 18 year old was carded many times because she looks underage...Yes, I did see underage kids drinking...So where were their parents? Our kids checked in with us regularly and we held them accountable for their actions. And don't blame the ship because some idiot 18 year old tried to smuggle 2 pounds of pot in Jamaica...I did not hear about any assaults from my 2 daughters...Overall, I think the cruise was great.

And things need to be kept in perspective. Ok, so there was underrage drinking on board and maybe some rowdy teens that needed to be dealt with. Doesn't really sound fair (or even reasonable) to bash the ENTIRE cruise.

How was everything else? Or did the zombie drunk teens overrun the entire ship making it miserable for EVERYBODY?

I usually don't respond to these types of gripes, but this one really irks me.

First off, why does underage drinking bother you? What do you care what other peoples kid's do?

I am pretty sure the casino is not off limits to children, they just can't gamble. Were they playing the slots or blackjack or something?

Rumors....enough said.....

If the fed's were there, there was a reason, Maybe your "rumour" was true, sorry to inconvenienace you for a couple of hours while criminal rapists were being apprehended.

And finally, if there is too much to write, why write at all?

There were security guards after there were way to many complaints from

Families that to much was going on.

I did do my researsh before going on this trip and I did read the boards

before I went I just never posted.

I learned alot of things from these boards but I was unaware about what goes on with the underage children.

The reason I care Is because I have two daughters that were on the ship and I felt I couldnt leave them alone for a second.

I am sure alot more is going to surface because alot of people that were there had the same complaints as me.

This was supposed to be a family vacation to enjoy not count the security guards or the underage drinkers.

I want nothing out of this post just to aware other families that are going to watch there children be careful there are no cameras on the floors and people let there kids walk alone floor to floor alone. I didnt .

As for the legal part of it I am not commenting for that and I didnt even contact royal carribbean yet. I am still trying to get over the rudness of the people on the ship.

Only if you were there could you understand.

Thank you

I agree that underage drinking is a problem. These kids get drunk and turn into foul-mouthed idiots. I was on a cruise years ago and in the dining room there was a table full of these children cussing up a storm. I am by no means a prude, but I will not tolerate the "C" word being used in front of my wife and other adults in my party. I informed the head waiter of the situation and insisted I be moved immediately. He moved us immediately and the cruise was fine from then on. Sorry your cruise was ruined by these adolescent idiots. RCCL should be more aggressive in their enforcement of the rules. This is the reason I never cruise when school is not in session.

This is another thread that speaks of kids running amok in the casino. I concidered the Casino my only Adult Sanctuary in the entire ship. I can handle the 9.50 bottle to the room gone and some of the other ammenities and adult sanctuaries that seem to be NO more, but now the Casino. I am concidering saying goodbye to RCCL and back to Holland America or princess......or maybe even Carnival (did I say that !)

FYI: you have to be 18 to be in the casino...not just to play...passing through is one thing....hanging around is another.Minors drinking--->that would not set well with me either...what's the chance they're not going to be doing things they shouldn't be doing--->?vandalism/loud+obnoxious behaviour/"promiscuous behavior"/etc as a result of alcohol intoxication....JMHO

I also use the casino as a sanctuary from kids. This is an over 18 only location and I have seen this inforced in the past.

Underage drinking can be a major problem and in this instance may not have been addressed properly by the cruise line on the Voyager. The Voyager is a city of 6000+ people including the crew. It is no different than a small city.

I do feel sorry for what the OP has went through. Although I do not condone underage drinking, if this was the main problem, welcome to the real world. Unsupervised teens, no matter how good they are at home, will try their wings out. They will get the alcohol from the bar or through another legal age person when possible. Doesn't make it right, it is just life.

I would like to here about the other problems though. So if they are something that continues to happen in the future we all can direct our concerns to the cruise line so positive steps can be taken. I do think that the cruise line does need to take more care about who they serve alcohol to though.

So what the OP is complaining about is the cruise line allowing those that are not at the posted age to do things they are not supposed to do?

I find it ironic that you are telling us about underage kids doing things when your chief complaint seems to be that they wouldn't allow your child to be in the kids program even though you knew he/she was too young. And perhaps you thought that restriction for kids that aren't potty trained applied to OTHER peoples kids?

And I thought Voyager is a ship and the boats are hanging on either sides.

You don't need to be rude. She's very upset, and I don't blame her at all.

I didn't think the VOS was all that great myself!

So people are complaining about underage drinking. This is probably the reason RCCL eliminated the cabin consumption fee. It would be so easy for a teen to find someone to purchase them booze in the gift shop. Then they can go get drunk in their cabin, or somewhere else without even dealing with a bartender. The way I see it people can't have it both ways. Either give up some liqueur or deal with the drunk teens.

Just asking a question...what is the "drinking age" and casino age on Royal Caribbean? Is it the same age as is commonly understood in the US? Many other countries have a lower minimum age and I am just wondering if Royal Caribbean honors the age of the country of their registration or their company head quarters or do they follow US law? Just wondering, that's all. I never noticed if teens were drinking or gambling on board or not.

Heeeey sounds like you are disssing NYers:mad:

And what makes you think it does not happen on other ships? On one ship I was on a lady had her son seated next to her at a slot machine, okay at least she knew where the kid was, I will give her that, but not much else.

Also when I was in Vegas I saw much the same thing, it is the parenting at fault, RCI can only do so much. Why? because the parests would then be doing the whining instead of you.

On vacation in Orlando a few years ago teens trashed pools and vending areas and hot tubs. It took several nights and some vigilant hotel guests before they got caught and sent home. We were a part of the vigilant guests. I am proactive, not just a passive whiner!:p
