Island drydock

On our recent Island cruise we were told they will add a bunch of new cabins. Sure hoping it won't be on oue favorite aft decks. Does anyone know the details? Will they add an International Cafe?

The rumors I've read say the new cabins may be near the International Lounge which will reportedly receive a major change to improve sight lines for performances. Sadly that would probably be the end of the Bayou show which is only on the Island & Coral's revolving stage. Hopefully they'll find a better location for the International Café than where it's located on the Coral which is in the old casino bar area with reports of smoke from the casino which I didn't experience. Another rumor is that the Bayou Café steakhouse will be converted to a Crown Grill.

I have not read anything official from Princess and hopefully we'll soon learn about the changes.

I would think it would have the same changes made to the Coral duriing her last dry dock. Adding the Window Suites and IC, taking part of the casino space away.
Wish they were WS but the are only oceanview cabins. There have been reports that major changes will be made including adding 100 more cabins and adding an IC where the Patisserie is on Plaza deck. Island is the largest Princess ship that will be able to sail into Venice after this November. Maybe they are adding more cabins to increase revenue on the premier route. We will need to wait and see.

Having just booked our first ever cruise with Princess (Panama Canal 2016) and having read so many nice things about her I hope that she's even better after her dry dock! Guess time - and CC reviewers - will tell.

Remove the Universe Lounge and add 152 new cabins. :(

I suspect only the second level will be removed and the first level redesigned, maybe renamed also. Any cabins over the remaining first level had better have good sound proofing.

According to the schedule and a few other posts it looks like it will be right after the TA sailing which is in March. Island disappears from the schedule for the whole month of April and returns set in the Med in May.

The weird thing is I have been working at planning a cruise for June and the deck plans give two options, pre or post November 25th? I cannot figure out why that date is pushed so far out. Maybe a Commodore or TA knows.

Anyway it will be nice to see her with the IC, and all refreshed. Island has been a favorite of mine for some time now :)

I can't see any significant changes between the two such as an IC or a revised Universe Lounge area. Don't know why the November 25th date
