Every cruise, there is a Walk. Look for sign up sheet to be delivered to your cabin a few days in advance.

There was no sign-up sheet on the June 22 Amsterdam Cruise. The Walk was mentioned in the daily newspaper and you went to the Front Desk to sign up.

Some ships send out the form for you to sign up for the "On Deck for the Cure" and others only mention it in the daily "On Location" program.

It has gone up -- I think on our last cruise it was either $20 or $25 person.

HAL no longer sponsors On Deck for the Cure, which is a Susan Komen Foundation charity. HAL now sponsors On Deck for a Cause, which is for all cancers via the American Cancer Society, as well as cancer societies from several other countries.

My understanding is that the Susan Koman Foundation spent much more on exec. salaries, admin, and fundraising but a comparatively small percentage on actual research. This appears to be the reason why they are being dropped by so many organizations.
