Taking "stuff" on excursion

Recommended Posts

We booked excursions to snorkel at one port and do a dolphin encounter at another thru the cruise line. Do I need to keep stuff like money, credit card and room key in a waterproof pouch under my swimsuit? Or are lockers provided? What's the best option here?

One more thing; when snorkeling with a camera, do I keep that on a cord around my neck? Or a wrist strap?

We use waterproof pouches, can find lots online.

Seapass card a little cash all fits in nicely

DD has a floaty wrist strap for her UW camera, works well and really does float:)

FYI, some Dolphin parks do have lockers, they did in Grand Cayman

In general you should probably plan to keep all of that in a waterproof wallet or plastic snap closure container with you. (Most have lanyards or will fit in a pocket).

Not sure where you are doing your excursions but I would not count on lockers being available. My preference would be to keep the room key card, cash, etc., with me at all times even if lockers were available.

Attached is an example of an inexpensive one easily found online.

For the camera, I prefer the wrist strap. As others have said, it all depends on what excursions you booked. Some have lockers, some have someone watching your stuff, and others you are on your own. We were on a snorkel trip through the ship in St.Thomas and they had someone on the boat watching everyones stuff and we all felt our things were safe. It was a small group though.
