k2excursion Posted August 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2014 That is cool. Thanks for sharing. She was my first ship, and there are some great memories there. Still, what a big difference 10 years has made!

RWolver672 Posted August 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 2, 2014 I had to laugh that it said her Maiden Voyage was 2014. Kind of misleading if anyone didn't know she use to be a Carnival ship.
Pine Bluff Posted August 2, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 2, 2014 The celebration was recently transfered to costa. Check out the big yellow whale tale. http://www.cruisemasters.co.za/ships/view/1275/costa+celebration I wonder what the rationale is in keeping the whale tail intact. I know they kept them for Iberia, but the Tropicale had its removed. Maybe for stability during future salutes.
Vitamin_Sea Posted August 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) she was with CCL then Iberocruceros and now Costa. I dont see any itinerary scheduled yet with Costa, The transfer is for November 2014 Edited August 2, 2014 by limoguy1
JLee1973 Posted August 2, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Since it hasn't been transferred yet could that be some photoshop paint at work. Check out the big yellow whale tale. http://www.cruisemasters.co.za/ships/view/1275/costa+celebration Thanks for posting, she was our first cruise back in 96. falkcor Posted August 2, 2014 #14 Share Posted August 2, 2014 i think it looks terrible. looks recycled, and a whale tail doesn't belong on costa. they oughta just remove it and put their oval stack on it.

islandatsea Posted August 2, 2014 #17 Share Posted August 2, 2014 The Celebration was my first Carnival cruise, before that I cruised 3 times on the Dolphin cruise line on the OceanBreeze & SeaBreeze if anyone remembers that cruise line. The Celebration was much newer than the other ships I had cruised on since Dolphin ships were built in the 1950's. I remember saying to myself once onboard the Celebration, what a nice ship & stayed with Carnival after that.

What a great ship to cruise on! Good to see her finding a new life.
