If Indy offers unlimited plans, figure around $190 per week.

 

If Indy is still on per minute plans, then $0.85 per minute, with blocks of minutes available to lower the per minute cost.

As of March, Independence of the Seas did offer unlimited plans.

 

Here's what the pricing was then (for an 8-night cruise):

• Cruise Plan Special (two concurrent devices, unlimited access) - $229.95
  
• Unlimited Plan (one concurrent device) - $189.95
  
• Daily Plan (24 hours of continuous access, one concurrent device) - $59.90
  
• One Hour Plan (60 minutes of internet access that can be used throughout the duration of the cruise, one concurrent device) - $29.95

can you use your laptop in your cabin or do you need to use their computers in the designated areas?

Independence of the Seas has ship-wide wifi, so you should be able to access it using your laptop in your cabin, or just about anywhere else on the ship.

Yes, you pay onboard.

 

The cost will be $0.85 per minute if Grandeur is still on the per minute plan.

 

The cost will be around $190 per week if Grandeur has gone to the unlimited plan.
