Shimizu-Japan what can we do in 5hours

Hallo, trying to get a car to take us for a tour, but it is not so easy. Found tours from TOkio to go there cheaper than picking you up in the port.

 

Anybody knows a driver, who could take us for a 5hours tour? thank you:)

I am looking for a taxi driver as well but it is not easy.  Did you find one?  Do you have someone to recommend?  Were they plenty of taxi at the port?

Public transportation in Tokyo (throughout Japan, actually) is outstanding.  Traffic is miserable.  Hence, many (most???) tour guides use public transportation instead of a car/vehicle.

Not sure what you have in mind of doing when you are in Shimizu, but we spent a relaxing day in port in December. We walked from port to the Shin-Shimizu (not the Shimizu Station) train station and took the 20-minute ride on the local Shizuoka Tetsudo train to Shin Shizuoka, the last stop on that line. Walked 10 minutes to the Sunpu Castle Park. Then went up to the 21st floor Observation Platform of the Prefectural Office across the street for a view of the city and of Mt. Fuji. All for free (not the train ride). Took the train back and walked to the Shimizu Fish market for a seafood lunch then walked back to port. There is a shopping mall and vendors along the way, making it all entertaining. We were lucky that Mt. Fuji was in full view that afternoon.
