joeyancho Posted September 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2014 Amazing people! They sacrifice a lot to better their family`s lot in life. You must admire them. I always tip generously to let them know they are appreciated. It makes one realize, as Americans, how good we have it.

candide333 Posted September 3, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 3, 2014 On our last cruise, a 25 day Transpacific on the Sapphire, our waiter, Benjamin, was the very best we have ever had. In a couple of months after our cruise, he was returning to his family in Manilla. On one occasion, he shared his excitement in getting an IPod for his youngest son. We are hopeful we will sail with him again. Thanks for posting the link.

OCruisers Posted September 4, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Thanks so much for posting the article! We especially love having Filipino bar tenders because they'll tell us about their families back home and their traditions. Always, they seem to feel very fortunate to have a job on a cruise ship!
