cruisetimeforme Posted September 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2014 came across two diffferent menus and hoping someone could clarify if their current menu offers lamb chops, veal tenderloin and veal ossobuco in addition to beef and chicken etc. Sailing on the vision shortly so any advance info would be appreciated. Any favorites?
Clarea Posted September 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Here are the menus: http://media.royalcaribbean.com/content/shared_assets/pdf/menus/giovannis.pdf First part is lunch, second part is dinner. KristyM79 Posted September 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Is this this the menu that will eventually replace Portofino's? If so, that is very disappointing. The meal we had a few weeks ago at Portofino's was delicious with much better options than this. Edited September 3, 2014 by KristyM79

Although Portofino and Giovanni's Table are both "Italian" restaurants, they were never intended to be the same. Now that RC is taking Portofino out and putting in Giovanni's Table on all ships, people somehow expect the same thing, but it isn't. :(

Portofino was meh...whereas Giovanni's knocked our socks off! YUMMY and can't wait to go again next year :( (so far away)

Clarea Posted September 4, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Thanks, for some reason I couldn't find it on RC when I was looking. Price probably only shows up in the Cruise Planner when you are trying to order it.

OCruisers Posted September 4, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 4, 2014 We've always loved Portofino's BUT actually liked Giovanni's better! :) LuLu
KristyM79 Posted September 4, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Eventually I will try Giovanni's but our experience with Portofino was great. The service was superb. We loved the crostinis with tuna, duck, eggplant, and tomato. Also, the skewered seafood as an entree was delish. And you can't go wrong with tiramisu served in a chocolate bowl with a shot of layered Kahlua and Bailey's on the side.
BND Posted September 4, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Giovanni's is much better than Portofino. Everything we had there in March was fabulous. Going again in Nov for dinner.
