Rare DaisyUK Posted September 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Any suggestions for a luxury hotel not too far from the cruise terminal?
Jakedog Posted September 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) Used the Holiday Inn, twice. Ideal for proximity to Terminal. $10 taxi ride. Less than 5 mins. Not luxury though Mariott is also close. Can see Oceania ships, if docked in usual berth, from the hotel restaurant Edited September 16, 2014 by Jakedog
Paulchili Posted September 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Why not post this on ports of call forum where residents of Miami (or S. Florida) can give you best advice.

orchestrapal Posted September 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) Any suggestions for a luxury hotel not too far from the cruise terminal? You said luxury, The Intercontinental is right across the causeway from the port. Make sure you get a room/suite facing the port and you can watch your ship come in in the morning. The hotel also boasts one of the best restaurants in Miami Toro Toro Edited September 16, 2014 by orchestrapal

Merriem Posted September 20, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 20, 2014 We considered those, but our flight doesn't get in until 10:30 pm and I think we are going to just stay at an airport hotel. If it were earlier we would do one of the nicer hotels, but for 12 hours it doesn't seem worth it.

The Miami airport Embassy Suites has a great deal which we have used a number of times - it is a cruise special. Their shuttle picks you up from the airport and takes you to the port the following day. We really like Embassy Suites, nice size rooms, free happy hour, cooked to order breakfast and extremely nice staff. Just be careful when booking, there are a number of cruise specials, some include transfer to the port for one person and charge for a second and other rates are for everyone on the reservation. It really is a very good deal, at least it has been whenever we have used it. gnomie. :)

Cannot complain about that. The residence inn has good ratings and for one night, that seems just fine. Thanks for the info on the embassy suites. The hotel also boasts one of the best restaurants in Miami Toro Toro That is also our choice although we often use Sheraton points at their airport hotel. Then take the short cab ride. Toranut97 Posted September 24, 2014 #16 Share Posted September 24, 2014 Just as a note, while it is not "luxury" we stayed at the b2 across from Bayside Village. Our shuttle to the terminal was $6 each and took all of 15 minutes (traffic). Not fancy, but boutique-y. We are staying there again in April. Can't wait!!!!
