Grandma Cruising Posted September 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Can't get the link to work, Bonnie, but I love the Mosaic cafe. We have a coffee from ther every morning on sea days, and pop in in the afternoon to sample the cakes and early evening for the hors d'oevres. Lovely! Spursgirl Posted September 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Mosaic is the heart of the two ships. I love it and kid myself that those bite sized pastries have very few calories:(

autumn lass Posted September 21, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 21, 2014 We love Mosaic. It's our first port of call after breakfast, lunch and dinner for a lovely latte with syrup flavourings. On our last few cruises on either ship the staff have remembered us and our preferred brews are delivered to our table without us placing an order. As others have said its the heart of the ship. Rare mare s. Posted September 21, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 21, 2014 ahhhh. yes! A lovely cappuccino in the early morning after my many laps around the walking track! (and maybe a little snack or two to tide me over until breakfast LOL) The coffee in the MDR was a bit better our last cruise, but on earlier ones, we asked for coffee from Mosaic after dinner and our lovely wait staff brought them back for us! (BTW, I too miss the piano there)
excitedofharpenden Posted September 21, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Love Mosaic. The biscuits (cookies) are delicious. If you aren't that hungry for breakfast a visit there in the morning for one of the savoury and also the almond croissants together with a cup of your favourite is a good start to the day. Bonnie, I should add that the barista in your photo, Owen, is a great member of the bar staff. Phil
newcruisermom Posted September 21, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 21, 2014 The Mosaic was one of my favorite places on my two cruises (...the other favorite was any outdoor table for dinner at Windows!) Mosaic is such nice spot for a latte and book in the morning, as well as an after-dinner coffee in the evening. Great staff and atmosphere. *sailing again on the Quest, November
Prefdavid Posted September 21, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Another one here in total agreement with your Blog Bonnie. We really enjoyed Mosaic and it also had the additional bonus of having the best WiFi reception (well it did on Quest anyway). Not only great coffee and snacks but also a really useful information exchange for various cruise and travel sites from fellow passengers.
GreenEyedKat Posted September 21, 2014 #14 Share Posted September 21, 2014 WE LOVE MOSAIC. As others have said, its the beating heart of both ships. We often have a couple of those delish little sausage rolls and an almond croissant with a cappuchino for breakfast. Wish the Trivia was still held here. Sabbycat Posted September 21, 2014 #16 Share Posted September 21, 2014 While I have never sailed on Azamara, I have enjoyed the cafe on X! However, with no sea days on our upcoming (and first) Azamara cruise I am wondering if I can get my beverage in a to go cup? I am not good in the morning without my Americano!:p Is there any music, live or otherwise, in the evening in the cafe? Thanks :)

CintiPam Posted September 21, 2014 #19 Share Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) I love visiting Mosaic for some coffee and a small snack but a large part of my enjoyment was the music there. Sorry that it has been moved/eliminated. Edited September 21, 2014 by CintiPam
Sabbycat Posted September 21, 2014 #20 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Thanks all; no music even piped in? It would be lovely to sit there in the evening listening to some jazz with a beverage! Disappointing if there is absolutely no music. Some piped in jazz or classical would be lovely in the evening. Sabrina
BBMacLaird Posted September 22, 2014 Author #21 Share Posted September 22, 2014 I'm loving reading everyone's thoughts and memories of the Mosaic Cafe. Love Mosaic...Bonnie, I should add that the barista in your photo, Owen, is a great member of the bar staff. Since I was mostly working on my blog posts I used the PCs in the computer center. P.S. thank you to all who sent me instructions on how to use the Multi-Quotes. This is my new favorite short-cut. nuneham Posted September 22, 2014 #22 Share Posted September 22, 2014 One of my favourite places to relax or catch up with writing my journal. BUT in the afternoon I like tea. I bring my own Assam tea bags since they disappeared onboard but could someone please pass on the message that the hot water should go directly on to the tea bag - it's brought separately and it cools quickly. Gareth C Posted September 23, 2014 #23 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Hi, I love the Mosaic, I start my day there most days and even my cruise on Embarkation day. with an Americano and a little quiche for breakfast with my parents. Right in the hart of the ship also like a Lemon Chelo there in the evenings especially if the ship is quiet it is also good for lunch after a tour if you don't like the hassle and noise of Windows cafe. I wish they would put the piano back in there as that was great at night as well. I miss it very much.
genegri Posted September 25, 2014 #24 Share Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Love Mosaic Cafe! From the name to the venue to the coffee to the snacks! :p I especially enjoy popping up my laptop there and doing some work on sea day afternoons. Sometimes it's the smallest things that make us happy. :) Edited September 25, 2014 by genegri
