Spring Posted September 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Came across this from Seatrader In 2016, Pullmantur will be getting another vessel from Royal Caribbean, Vilches told Seatrade Insider. Could it be the Majesty of the Seas? if not what is your guess?
Clarea Posted September 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Might be Majesty or even a Celebrity ship.
Spring Posted September 25, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Might be Majesty or even a Celebrity ship. I didn't think about Celebrity more from the report. Though CDF Croisières de France is not getting Celebrity Century to replace Zenith in 2015 as planned, the French division will continue with two ships and, in 2016, Pullmantur will be getting another vessel from Royal Caribbean, Vilches told Seatrade Insider. Fat Paul Posted September 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2014 The older, smaller ships don't seem to fit the Royal Caribbean business model.
Cruising89143 Posted September 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 25, 2014 I think most assume that the Majesty will join her two sisters at Pulmantur. Celebrity is not in the position to lose another vessel since the Century was sold and will be leaving the fleet next Spring. That only leaves X with ten ships (five Solstice, four Millie and the Xpedition).

loubetti Posted September 25, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Is Mercury gone already? Mercury and her sister Galaxy (loved Galaxy!) are with TUI cruises and their "Mein Schiff" brand (German). RCI owns 50% of TUI cruises. I very much expect Majesty will join her famous sisters with Pullmantur.
rhuntington3 Posted September 25, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Mercury was a great ship! We sailed on her back in 2004 to Alaska. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Justmekaren918 Posted September 25, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 25, 2014 I just got off Vision with a travel agent that claimed he booked 30 cabins on Majesty it was either March/April 2016 as her last cruise and then she was sold. He seemed extremely confident in what he was saying. What would it gain him to make it up! All I can say is it better not be a Radiance class ship! I had thought Mercury would be a candidate to go to Pulmantur along with Majesty.
MattInFLL Posted September 25, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 25, 2014 All I can say, as I said on the other threads on the this topic, is that the senior staff and officers on Majesty do not believe that April 29, 2016 will be Majesty's last cruise for Royal Caribbean. Funny, but every time I see a picture of the aft on Quantum with its 270 venue, all I can think about is the amazing aft dining venue on Mercury and Galaxy:) Edited September 25, 2014 by orville99
boscobeans Posted September 25, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Is Mercury gone already? A few years now. We were on her last cruise as a Celebrity ship ( R/T Baltimore-Caribbean) and were sad to see her pool deck and other out door features being dismantled as we grew closer to Baltimore. Mercury was one of our favorites. bosco
FLACRUISER99 Posted September 25, 2014 #14 Share Posted September 25, 2014 Read an article in the WSJ a few weeks ago and it stated that RCL was unhappy with Pulmantur's financial results.

MattInFLL Posted September 26, 2014 #20 Share Posted September 26, 2014 They are not going to give up "newer" ships like Radiance. It will likely be Majesty to Europe at some point, and perhaps a Vision class to China (but I am completely speculating on that.)
NJ Fred Posted September 26, 2014 #21 Share Posted September 26, 2014 I know I'm covering several bases. My prognostication is Majesty or Legend under the RCL pennant. Or, Summit, Connie or Millennium under the "X". Pullmantur runs a good line. What with former "X" Master Nicholas Pagonis in high management a customer will find no worries.
