Great Stirrup Cay

It is very dependent on weather, whether the tenders can run or not. However, it is also not that big. You will quickly see the variety of activity available once on shore. They will serve a very good buffet lunch with a large variety of food. Drinks will be available at several bars located around, prices same as ship prices. It is just a great little island for lying in the sun, playing in the water, just relaxing. There will be some music, volleyball, and some shopping, very similar to what is available on the ship. The tenders will be running back to the ship throughout the day, no reservation needed. Just go on shore relaxed and look it over and enjoy.

Tell me about Great Stirrup Cay. My cruise in November will be my first time visiting this island and I would love to know where is the best place to hang out for the day? Do you have any tips and/or tricks for getting the best experience on this lovely little gem of an island?

Thanks in advance!

Take a look at Ports of Call message board under Private Islands. A poster took some lovely pictures of GSC and gave some details on the island.

I was there in June and was blown away how nice it was. Tender tickets are given out on the pool deck starting around 7:40am the day of GSC. We got off the tendor and drifted right. We got a great spot on the beach, paid for a clamshell, and food/beverages/ restrooms were all close.

My expectations were mixed going in but overall it was an amazing stop. I usually stay at the beach 1-2hrs and stayed for 5. They really have done a nice job with the island.

You can also see the RCL island which is to the right. It is way smaller and not as built up.

I'm the OP and thank you for all of the tips. I was hoping for a little more insight. For example, I'm very familiar with Royal Caribbean's private island, CocoCay and I love it. But they have names for their beach areas and therefore, easy to direct someone to a favorite spot. I'll go take a look on the Ports of Call page and see what they have to say. Thanks again for the help.
