Casino Program Changes

Recommended Posts

CR confirmed rebates must be used by March 15. They also said the assigned tier level will be based on your play over the past year (actually from April 2014-now is what they said). Ore than that, no details yet but we will all know soon.

I am hoping what you have stated is incorrect, as the other day we were informed that tier level would be calculated from inception into CR VIP program.

With many years and many $$$ invested, if loyalty is only rewarded for 2014's play, then that would suck!!!

If it is only based on play from 2014 only, I can see a lot of members will not be very happy bunnies.

For me and DW if they calculate our tiers solely on 2014 rack, then RC will for sure lose a shot at our future bankroll.

I have my flame proof vest on:D and CR did not comp it;)

Nope, we got it extended. Contacted executive office when announcement was first made and they agreed to extend it.

Thanks for responding. How does one contact the executive office? Hope you will be willing to share any phone numbers you may have. The rebate I would lose is pretty substantial for me and so would truly appreciate the info.

Not to be Nancy Negative but it doesn't make sense that all of us currently in Club Royale would automatically be grandfathered into the highest tier. I'm currently a platinum member with m life as well and it takes a ridiculously high amount of play or spending to reach that level. I think they'll go based on your play as a Club Royale member on your recent cruises, probably over the past year and assign tiers that way.

The discounts and perks will be assigned based on your tier. The higher your tier, the more you get and the cash back or rebate option won't go away as M life has that with their express comps which are earned faster the higher tier you are. Sapphire, pearl, gold, platinum, noir which is by invitation only. Also, currently in Club Royale the cruise price is the cruise price if you're a member. With the new tiers, the prices will be different based on your tier status. It won't be a 1 size fits all thing.

We are sailing on Jewel on March 21 and our Gold M-Life members. How do we link this to our play on the Jewel?

Kiyoto - I just emailed Adam Goldstein's office. I sent an email explaining that I was unhappy with the changes and their policy of forcing us to cruise within 6 months. Received a phone call back and was told I could apply it to my 2016 cruise. That cruise was just a placeholder (I had cancelled a ncc and they wouldn't refund the deposit, so I had to move it). I was told I could not extend it past that date in 2016.

Tanderine,

Contact Club Royale at 8885612234 and give them your m life players card account number. They will then verify it through m life and add your gold status to the reservation. Having gold status with m life will entitle you to added amenities while onboard your ship, free drink coupons etc. Not a lot but better then nothing.

You can find what you're entitled to while onboard by going to the RCCL website, searching for club royale and then m life. It'll show you what you get for being Gold, Platinum or Noor. Good luck

seaofwonder--Thanks for your quick reply. Truly appreciate your kindness in responding. I hope we will be able to meet some day so that I can thank you in person. Hopefully, I can be as convincing as you in having RCI make an exception regarding the March 2015 deadline.

Can anyone tell me how I go about getting my play tracking at the casino corrected. I am a Club member. I took a back to back cruise on Freedom in Dec. 2014. Total of 14 days. I recently booked another cruise for March 21 2015. I found out that my play was rated at only about 1/3 of my actual play. I have contacted the Club 3 times but have not heard anything back other than they are looking into it via an automated response. I want to take another cruise now, but this is affecting the rates for cruising. I understand this has been an ongoing problem.

We are doing a b2b Feb 20th and Mar 1. I am not sure what I will do for the Mar 1st cruise. If the rebate has to used by Mar 15th that will be impossible for me. Unless I do what the op suggested and ask for a extension.

No need for you to do anything now. I was just advised by Club Royale, due to numerous complaints by their CR VIP members, their new VIP program will now be changing on 3-15-2016, instead of 3-15-2015. Oh happy days!!!:)

CR VIP members will be receiving an email shortly explaining the new effective date change. They are still working out the benefit details for their new program.

Thanks for the info Smiley but I just heard back from Club Royale and they said that they could not give us any of the M-life benefits because we had already booked our cruise. This makes no sense since we didn't know about the linked program until recently and we booked our cruise months ago. Does this make sense?

Sorry, it does make sense what you were advised by Club Royale. Since CR now has your MLife number, in the future, you will be given a choice to book a cruise using either your MLife number or your C&A number. CR will advise you what program (MLife or C&A) will give you the better benefits. You can not double dip with the benefits, meaning, you can not use both MLife and Crown & Anchor benefits when booking a cruise.

Did you ask CR if you can cancel and re book your cruise using MLife benefits?

Here are the MLife benefits

Tanderine,

Yes, unfortunately it does. Everything you do now when booking a cruise has to go through the club Royale number I gave you. Store it, save it, guard it with your life. All the other RCCL numbers or travel agents you have used in the past are now obsolete. Even if you book through club royale you can't call the other RCCL numbers for help. You must call club royale. The downside is they're closed weekends. They have long hours during the week though.

If you're outside your full refund window, you could cancel and re book through club royale. You'll get a better price every time through club royale then you will ge through any other way you book as long as you keep gold or above status through m life. If you're not outside the full refund window you could call and get the resolutions dept and explain the situation. That may help. Also, I'd still take your gold m life cards on board with you and meet with the casino host. Explain your m life status and they may just give you the perks you're entitled to that way. Free drink coupons, speciality dinner for 2 etc. it's worth the attempt.

Good luck

P.S. In the future, if you get invited into Club Royale through RCCL then you will have a choice to make when booking a cruise through the club royale number. You would either use your m life benefits or club royale benefits. M life benefits will get you tier credits through your onboard play while club royale play will not transfer back to m life tier credits. It only happens for slot play and for every RCCL shipboard point you earn you get 5 tier credits on your m life account.

Thank you for the clarification but I didn't use C&A benefits to book so I am not trying to double dip. I guess we will have to wait for the next time we book. I'm sure it won't matter once we are on the ship and out of the 78 inches of snow we have!!

I spoke with Club Royale earlier today. They did confirm rebates will be earned through March 15, 2015 to be used (as cash rebate or payment towards a cruise) by March 15, 2016. This affects us as we are sailing March 8-15, 2015. He said we will benefit under the old system (cash rebate) as well earning on that cruise for the tier ranking under the new system. The new system was described as "Prestige and Recognition" for players. I was told some of the benefits will be priority embarkation and debarkation, more onboard comps (such as, shore excursions, spa treatments, specialty dinners, etc.). Also mentioned was personalized comps, they will offer comps tailored to what they believe you like.

We have gotten great room rates, good rebates and numerous comps under the old system. Hope the new system is even better. We should get the email today or tomorrow. Will post when I have more info.

I just called in today to apply my MLife Gold benefits to an August cruise and was told the same thing... rebates extended to 2016 but the new system starts next month. The CR guy did not know the benefits of the new system, but he did say to call back before my cruise to see if that would be a better deal for me.

We last sailed on the Oasis last November. We have another cruise on that ship this August.

We were not able to use our rebate on this next cruise because it "expired" in March.

After reading your post, I emailed Club Royale last night and asked them to apply the rebate...they never told me how much it was but it always a couple of hundred dollars.

There should not be a problem because this next cruise was booked throught Club Royale.

I will let you know if this worked !

I sent my email in yesterday for our April cruise and got the rebate. Very happy as I had figured it was a goner. Thanks to all of you on this thread especially Sea of Wonder for starting it.

Just wanted to say "Thanks" for starting this thread. I've been a member for a long time now but hadn't ever gotten any emails like you've been talking about. I did get my comp. money when we cruised last year and just took it as cash from the casino when we boarded as I had called them and told them I was cruising again and they told me I had money coming. I found out today that the email they had for me was wrong so that's why everything you have been saying on here was so foreign to me. :)

I am cruising next February and they did put my comp. money on that cruise and said since we are getting off the boat on March 8th and this program expires on the 15th that I wouldn't get any comp. money off of that cruise as is earned now as the expiration is the 15th but I would get points toward the new tier level they are coming out with. I am a bit sad that I don't get any money from this cruise as it's always a substantial bit of comp. money but I guess as is with everything when there are changes you always lose a little bit of something to get to the new way of doing things so that being said we should all remember to contact them now and get that money transferred to the new sailing we have booked before they change that as well. He told me today that since I had waited so long to contact them about the money I had earned comp. that when I did call before last February's cruise I had lost half of the money by expiration so I am really really happy you started this thread and had me look into my account and what was going on with it and was able to get the full comp. by adding it within a year of earning the comp.!

You guys are the best!!!!!!! :)

Happy Sails!

Robin

I know I had enough points to play the slot tournament one night free. Then I also got a tshirt free that I will never wear. Wish they would hand out color shirts instead of the cheap white ones.

I did pretty well on the slots a couple weeks ago. I had won over $1000. for the week. So I was playing on their money. My husband also was playing on their money all week too. Now the bingo I just gave away my money.

My sister won second place with the slot tournament and won in bingo. She came away with $400. The beginning of the week her luck was not good.

One woman was shouting and yelling thinking she won $10,000. So everyone gathered around her only to find out she won $100. I don't make a fool of myself until the money is in my hand.
