Casino Program Changes

Recommended Posts

Thank you that is great information however something doesn't make sense. There is no Oasis of the Seas sailing on December 15th, 2015. The sailing dates next Dec. are the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th.

Looks like someone goofed.

Just read this entire thread. This is the first I have heard of the program changing.

We go on a VIP cruise Thursday for 4 nights. So if what I am reading is true, any rebate I earn this next week will have to be used by March 15th??

Thanks :)

If your room card doesn't work in the slot machines, the host can give you a card specifically for the machines that works!

Make sure to get your free drink coupons from the host. Make friends with the waiters - they will take care of you!

When I handed my card to the pit boss, they seemed to be a little confused!

Sdear - Giancarlo is the "main" host - he is great. We loved all of the host and serving staff! They also had a visiting host when we were there 11/27 and 12/1 sailings - Chris - I think he is leaving after the current cruise, but we loved him, too.

Hmmm..well I may just stick to the quarter machines this trip instead of the dollar ones lol.

I will see what I can find out about the new program on this cruise and report back.

Have a great cruise. Look forward to hearing from you when you get back.

I'm sailing on Oasis at the end of the month, got onboard via a junket and have a question about the rebates. I'm a roulette player of varying time and stake, will bet anywhere from $200-800 per spin and play for 2-5 hours depending on how well/poor I am doing. Question is I already booked the ultimate beverage package for my girlfriend and myself and charged it to my credit card. Can the rebate be used as on board credit and used to pay off the alcohol package if I was to cancel it now and rebook it once on board? Also how much of a rebate would be expected, meaning is it even worth doing so.

You will collect your CR rebate at the casino cashiers desk on the 1st night, they will give that to you in cash.

Casino host will have all the rebate letters.

Always worth taking a copy of your own to verify.

You can put the cash onto your account and have a +$ balance.

You have already paid for the drinks package on CCard, so that's a done deal.

If you are VIP with CR all drinks are free, not sure why you would need a drinks package for both of you.

FWIW, we have not paid for a drink in 12 years!

Happy Days!

Best of luck:)

Your rebate for this cruise will be available for your next cruise....not the one you are currently on.

Of course this all goes into limbo next March. We were on the Oasis last month. I will not be cruising again before next March 7 & have already been told there will be NO MORE REBATES after that.

They keep telling me the perks will be even better...cannnot even imagine anything close to the rebates they used to offer.

We are diamond so already get a cocktail hour & then the free drinks in the casino.

We could care less about the specialty restaurants. The only thing I am hoping for is deeper discounts on the cabins.

Can anyone tell me how the Casino on Celebrity Reflection compares to the casino on RCL's Liberty (or any Freedom Class ship)?

Have cruised lots on RCL but only once on Celebrity (Constellation). The casino was very small and cramped. So many players around the Black Jack tables they pushed right into the slot players nearby.

We would like to do a Christmas cruise and the Reflection is a very good price right now (for a Christmas cruise) however 7 days on a ship with a cramped casino -- not good.

Thanks for helping

Kathy

My husband plays poker and he thought Casino was not cramped. Reflection is a great ship and a lot bigger and newer than Constellation:)

I got the drink package for use during the day, water, coffee, drinks by the pool. I am not a CR VIP yet as this is my first cruise. Just verifying drinks will only be complimentary in the casino as a CR VIP correct?

We only had 2 cruises on Celebrity when we hit Diamond status on RCL.

Our next Celebrity cruise, they bumped us up to the Elite status.

That gives you more perks than Royal's Diamond.

Thanks for the info, our friends like Celebrity more, so we'll have to give them a try!:D

When we book through Casino never have other OBC or other discounts been combinable, and we have been booking through CR for over 12 years!

Guess you must drop more than $20k a cruise:) or be the BIG whale;)

Anyways even losing OBC and balcony discount, CR rate is much cheaper:D

Don't know if you'd call us whales, but years ago we got invited to join the casino club after less then 60 mins play on our first cruise!

Maybe they thought we looked like losers?!:D

Gotta agree with ya Sailor, the free tournament cruises plus port fees can't be beat!

Were you on the Allure's first cruise for the free trip/Casino Club party?

Great jumbo shrimp at that party!:D

We did not participate in the Casino Party on Allure, get invited to quite a few of the party cruises run by the Casino, timing normally is against us, or we have already booked our quota for the year.

But must say the Tuna are quite big in the areas where we frequent;)

Just have to watch out for the Sharks:)

Happy Days!

You learn something new all the time here. Thanks. And I copied this:

Royal Caribbean International now offers Club Royale, an "invitation only" casino player program which is available to guests Fleetwide. How does it work? Easy. Guests are invited to become members by the Casino Managers onboard based on their level of play during the cruise.

How to Qualify

How do you qualify for Club Royale rewards? Members must play at least two hours per day during their cruise, placing the following minimum bets: Blackjack/Dice at $50.00 per hand/roll; Caribbean Stud/Let It Ride/Three Card Poker /Roulette at $25.00 per hand/spin; Slots at $5.00 per spin.

Contact Club Royale Member Services at 888-561-2234 or email us at clubroyale@rccl.com to find out how you can qualify for membership and casino sponsored up-front comps on one of our VIP Club Royale cruises.

Rewards

Club Royale offers their members, depending on their casino play, tons of exclusive rewards including discounts towards their next cruise vacation, complimentary drinks, and invitations to join us for VIP Casino Cruises and our Club Royale Invitational Tournaments.

You would be correct comped drinks in Casino for CR VIP only.

Best of luck!

thanks for getting back to me Pompey, if I decide to not chase down the host for drink tickets can I use my sea pass beverage package at the casino bar? Im used to playing in atlantic city where for just being at the tables the waitresses take care of you.

Yes you can still use Casino Bar with Seapass card like any of the other bars.

The bar service and staff in the casino are IMO great, and we always find 1 or 2 that really do look after you.

They will make sure your glass is not empty:)

Edit: add, you can also stay at table or slot and bar staff will take your order when you show them your seapass card.

  • 4 weeks later...
  • 2 weeks later...

I called yesterday to ask about a casino rate for a Summer cruise, and my request was premised on my MLife status rather than experience with Royal Caribbean. She said that right now they only had offers available through the end of this quarter, but they were supposed to have updates in the middle of next week. I assume this is tied into the large changes in the casino loyalty program, and I will post more here after I call back.

It seems to me that they have a strong need to make some significant changes in order to be competitive in this particular space.

I went on my first NCL cruise last year. As a result of my time there, they're offering me a "comped" 7-night cruise in a balcony cabin, even for a cruise on one of their newest ships. "Comped" still costs $310/person in "non-commissionable fare" and "taxes and fees", but that's still a great price. Even with that, it's still a savings of about $2,000 from today's price for that cabin.

As a result of my last cruise on Royal Caribbean, I got a $325 rebate applied to the cost of my next cruise (which is sailing right before the end of the rebate offer, so I'm thankful to be getting something).

There's a significant disparity between the two. I would imagine that the upcoming changes to Club Royale will align themselves to be more like the competition.
