ShellLoves2cruise Posted October 17, 2014 #51 Share Posted October 17, 2014 Thank you firemanbobswife! I've seen a lot of mixed reviews, it's nice to know there's those who love her :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums I have not cruised on the Glory yet however at the past guest party, they show pictures of all the ships and ask you to applaud for the ones you've been on and the Glory always gets a very loud round of applause so it seems like she is liked by many! She is on my list of ships to try in the not too distant future!
lady_cruiser Posted October 17, 2014 #52 Share Posted October 17, 2014 I've never been on the Glory but I have been on the Elation, Magic, Conquest and in March I'm going on the Triumph. If you like to read there are plenty of books about Caribbean mysteries that I love reading. Death by Honeymoon is the first in a series of Caribbean Murder Mysteries by Jaden Skye that I highly recommend.
afcruiser Posted October 17, 2014 #53 Share Posted October 17, 2014 Seeing the 40 thousand posts on here of people running to hide under the covers about the illness-that-shall-not-be-named...I would love to see some people talking happy things :) I'm going to be a first-timer in 57 days on the Glory and I'm super excited. What's your favorite thing to do on your Carnival cruise? Any great moments/things that bring you to your happy place? Ps: I want to clarify that I'm definitely not one of the doom and gloomers, I even live in the Cleveland/Akron area and I'd much rather think about my cruise :D Sent from my iPhone using Forums No Worries and just have fun. I always bring hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes. Use hand sanitizer after loading my plate at buffet. Watching some people waiting in line have some pretty disgusting habits. Problly don't even realize how much they touch their nose, eye's, hair, ear buds, etc. I also bring Tums, Tylenol, Motrin, Aloe, sunscreen, bandaids, and the frame of mind that I'm on vacation.:p

SNJCruisers Posted October 18, 2014 #55 Share Posted October 18, 2014 I can now look at 7-8 night cruises. I am super excited. I would recommend an eight night cruise on either the Breeze or the Freedom.

RWolver672 Posted October 19, 2014 #66 Share Posted October 19, 2014 I'm going to be a first-timer in 57 days on the Glory and I'm super excited. What's your favorite thing to do on your Carnival cruise? Any great moments/things that bring you to your happy place? Sent from my iPhone using Forums Just seeing the ship for the first time as you come into the port. For our first cruise, DW talked me into going with a group that a co-worker was going with. I always associated a cruise with the rich. It was on the Destiny when she was only a year old. We flew into Miami a day early from Michigan where they had to de-ice the plane before we left. Got to Miami and it was in the 70's. (Wow, I could get use to this!) The following morning we took a taxi to the port and was flabbergasted at the size of the Destiny. We boarded after waiting in line for what seemed like hours. By this time, I had watched Kathy Lee Gifford's commercials hundreds of times so I kind of knew what some of the inside of the Destiny looked like. It still blew me away to actually see it in person. When it was time to depart Miami, the ship was headed in the wrong direction. The ship pulled out and headed for the turn-around basin. When we got down there, the ship pivoted around on a dime. I could not believe a ship of that size could do a manuever like that. Before we left Miami, I told my wife that we were definately going to start cruising every chance we got. Trust me, you will be hooked! As soon as we got home, I went to our bank and set up a special "Cruise Savings Account".

I'm also looking forward to the new menu, doing the BOSS tour in St. Thomas and just enjoying the sun, sand and water. bonnie&clydecruzers Posted October 20, 2014 #75 Share Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) My favorite thing to do is walking around Lido deck with a ice cream cone in my hand and the sea breeze running thru my hair with the deck music playing in the background.
